Reine laughed! About time, it's a rare sight but it happened. We even got a kiss too.

Mio is back again and just seems invincible in her form. Poor Kurumi. Glad they didn't forget rest of the crew and had them participate in the fight too. Westscott just had to interfere this episode.

What a date that turned out to be... lol

Shidou brings Reine to the same beach where Shin once took Mio three decades ago. He urges Reine to choose him and kisses her passionately, hoping to seal her affection for him. However, his attempt fails as it turns out that Shidou lacks the power to accomplish this, and instead, Mio gains access to Shidou's future memories. Suddenly, DEM appears because Wescott has discovered the time manipulation involving Beelzebub. Kurumi then joins the scene, leading to a confrontation with Reine. Eventually, Mio emerges from Reine's chest as before. She merges with Reine, who then heads off to confront DEM.

It's been a while since we've gotten a kiss. I say just a kiss because it wasn't a sealing kiss... obviously. But the way that affection meter or whatever dropped the second he and she started kissing is actually crazy lol. We got Kurumi back for this final battle, with her classic ara ara, ofc. But the fact that she was defeated so quickly and Mio got her form back THAT fast... we were doomed from the start. Though whatever, we're right back to the action, and I really don't see any way for us to win. Also, at the very least, thankfully, even if the pacing wasn't fast enough, it looks like the stopping point will be volume 19.

Kurumi's back up, will she, along with all the other spirits, finally be able to take down Mio once for all...

Pretty cool episode with lots of action! I loved Reine's outfit and also the little moment of tenderness at the beginning.
The fights with the reunited siblings were awesome.

the quality of the animation was also pleasant

overall, it follows the LN perfectly, the main thing was animated and with no censorship of the violence, I loved it !

The next episode is really going to BE INSANE, Kurumi is preparing a masterclass for us !!!

How much Mio suffered and I feel so sad for her (ノ_<). She deserved him at this point after all those suffering she had. Date a live has been an old gem and it again proved it with Season 5. Hope they make Season 6.

Another episode of peak only a few more eps left man 😔

Got my Reine Shido kiss but it didn’t work the way we anticipated with her affection levels actually dropping after the kiss and Reine realising Shin time travelled.

Idk what’s going to be enough to convince Reine/Mio that this isn’t the right path. She’s got the strength of a god and the determination of a shonen MC. If Shin were alive he’d be repulsed at what she’s doing and would never consent to sacrificing lives for him.

S/O Kurumi, man can’t praise her enough for how she been cooking in these last two seasons. Losing her was a big loss in the original timeline and even if Mio merges with Reine, having Kurumi alive and able to use her time abilities is a major plus. Brilliant quick thinking to use Zaphkiel there.

Westcott is such an irredeemable POS and I hope his death in this timeline is much more painful and satisfying than in the original. Taking the students hostage and threatening to kill them is just weak. Respect to the author for actually making a villain with no good aspects though. I missed this type of villain.

All 3 siblings reunited at last! Such an epic moment. Sucks that we ended on a cliffhanger but Kurumi is alive and well and I can’t wait to see what happens next episode. Also what Woodman is planning..

One of the coldest kisses in this show. If it isn't already clear to others, time travel and altered timelines are not a threat to Mio. However they can be kind of an annoyance, especially when the user is a goth girl with the willpower of a shonen protagonist. Mio just made her best puny frenemy and she's a prowd mom (rip context)!

This episode kinda fumbled it in the second half handling multiple set-ups and matchups. But these are bigger moments than one would realize. Mana and Kotori teaming up (ft. onii chan/nephew?!) is as exotic as Tohka and Origami (arch rivals) teaming up as a duo against Mio in earlier episode. I still find it funny that Ellen just has a childish and petty fascination in damaging Fraxinus. Lots of character names being called by characters and such, it's one of those things I don't like in surfeit. But all this only means the last two episodes will be a total blast.

@kunal_1301 Yes the pace is set up to end with Volume 19.

It really depends on what these guys interpret as an "ending" here. Some things are really ending here tho...

Of course she knew what was going on. I mean it'd have been more surprising if she didn't know this time travel thing was happening. Though yeah, Mio again.. coming out of Kurumi. Continues to be one of the bizarre things xD

The fights were all over the place, as it has been always with this series. Pretty sure the entirety of the next episode too will just be that. So, not sure but hope this wouldn't lead to another time travel in the end.

That moment you realize the final kiss move that's solved all your problems up to this point didn't work. The simple act of Reine saying Shido instead of Shin has such an impact.

And dammit Mii, a friend popping out of nowhere to save you from a sudden robotic terrorist attack with a massive sword is the furthest thing from "so lame"

Yeah sealing didn't work. Reine even called him Shido and not Shin. It's back to fighting once again. Do hope Shido finds a way. Disappointed that Elliot still hasn't joined the fight this time though. Also once again Kurumi coming in clutch.

Even though Shido & Reine Date is good, doesn't mean that's working right, and i didn't expect Shido, Mana & Kotori fighting together as siblings lol, kinda sad we didn't see Shido vs Wescott rematch, but Shido vs Ellen ?? that's new. and finally i'm excited af to see Kurumi in Rasiel mode next week !!!!!!

Mio got played by Kurumi again, the irony. Also gosh this is the first time we see Reine laugh and also the reveal of her Astral Dress. Westcott is now targeting civilians? that scum stood so low. I guess next episode will reveal how Kurumi survived and what's she's planning.

Isaac Westcott is a jerk, but he's an intelligent jerk. He made the right decisions with the information he had:

- Attack earlier than the original date to catch everyone as off-guard as possible.

- Mio is going to wipe out your fleet, you can't stop her, so sacrifice them as bait to keep her distracted.

- The Spirits are a problem. Pretend you're trying to blackmail them by threatening their loved ones and they'll leave to save them.

- Target Shido, and Shido alone, with everything you have left. If he dies, you win.

It's also interesting that he timed his attack with Kurumi's death at Mio's hands. But since Kurumi didn't die, now he's screwed. Poor him /s

Also I forgot to point out

That plan was a bust. Mio obviously going to catch on eventually. But i'll be honest he should have just mounted Reine/Mio and impersonate that to some degree he is Shin and he remembers her somewhat. I mean she already acknowledges him as such. Might as well go the full route.

Though next part is going to get weird.

So Kurumi survived somehow by using Zaphkiel. Would like to know how that happens. Shido and team is still fcked up as no way they can beat Mio lol + Westcott knowss about the future as well with beelzebub, so really tough to defeat

This is indeed an impossible battlefield, because back in the previous timeline... half of the people we're seeing on screen died, which means that the events that are happening in this current timeline are pretty much the best outcome for now... even more if we consider the big brain play that Kurumi pulled off against Mio!

But yeah, this wild ride is not over yet because new timeline means new shit going down really hard, can't wait for next week!

Mana is the ultimate MacGuffin in Date A Live. She's mostly completely invisible, not even given screen time as a background character like the spirits. Only when the plot requires her does she then magically appear out of thin air.

Shido's attempt to change the future hits unexpected obstale, as both Reine and DEM act quickly to achieve their goals. I was a bit afraid that the show would lose momentum because the previous episode gave us a much-needed break from all the action and the fighting, but this episode did a good job at not only preserving the stakes, but also raising them. With so many factions trying to get the upper hand, Shido is doing everything in his power to keep the peace.

@vadoyager7 her voice actress Misato, sweet arms, member talks alot about her character. Then again, list most seiyuus, she doesn't have anime roles anymore. Glad tachibana gave her such a big role most people completely overlook.

Not sure why people say Westcott is a weak villain, if people saying this actually bothered to pay attention, he was always going to one of the big villains, it was building up to him being a final confrontation from the very start of the series.

@Tropisch I don't think they're saying he's a bad villain, they're just sick of him. I mean, 4 seasons of having to deal with him could definitely get annoying. Even when the Light Novels for this arc came out people were ready for him to get kicked to the curb by this point. I can also understand why people wouldn't like the idea of Westcott being the main antagonist even though I think it was a good choice.

I'm not sure what exactly Kurumi did, but the moment she said "I've been waiting for this", I figured things would be alright.  And she came in just in time to even out the matchup at the end...though not in time to hold off the mechs that the rest of the spirits were sent out to stop.  Knowing Kurumi, that was intentional.

@SpiderMiles3523 Date a live Season 5 is now down to 8.00 from 8.01 , I don't understand why is this keep happening? Date a live season 5 is now number #2 on anime corner Week 10 and Number #1 on Sugoi topic Week 10 ,but some reasons ratings keep down voting here, seem like troll can't catch break where they did not watch any episode, they start putting 1 or 2 stars on every episode after 5 min of released
Also Reviews are mostly positive compare to slime season 3 which is filled with negative & mixed reviews

@RoyalDemon05 then just go on imdb to rate individual episodes. Or anime corner to vote.

Mal ratings 95% of the time don't change even with massively good episodes. Tensura still somehow still manages to get an 8 rating despite widely deemed the dumbest show on television right now. People r just stupid in general and don't switch shows.

Stop paying attention to this stupid site. It is like fussing on reddit over politics. It bears no relevance to merchandise or any behind the scenes going on.
