Probably the moment I realize I can multitask with it. The monotonous nature of grinding can actually be therapeutic when I have a podcast or sporting event in the background. That's how I managed 100% sync on most of the Assassin's Creed games.

I always try but never manage. Not caring much about achievements or just moving on to another game is more fun for me.

Assassin's Creed is the only game that is kind of easy to get 100% cleared game. Which is what I did on Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla (Until a stupid DLC ruined Valhalla 100% achievement).
Open world games were extremely enjoyable for me which makes clearing the game more fun.
Also got 100% on GTA IV and quite close on GTA V, until you suddenly need online friends to clear shit on GTA V. Tried to do 100% on RDR2 but that is basically impossible.

If most of what it takes to 100% one are just menial tasks that don't take too much skill to complete. idk about you but it feels so satisfying getting to 100% a game with little effort, it's like a checkbox that you finally get to write off.

i wont even try to plat a game, i understand 100%ing a game but platinum is way far off, requires a lot of time and is very mentally draining

Whatever game that doesn't have online-only multiplayer achievements because Sony refuses to make it free on consoles and how I hate PVP with every fiber of my being. Games without achievements that require god-tier skill to accomplish makes me more inclined to platinum it as well but there have been a few exceptions to that rule for games I really get into.

I have had zero motivation to 100% plat any game I have every played. I think people who do so are insane.

I barely do that, sometimes I redownload a game to 100% it and in the middle of process or even earlier I just quit out of boredom, my 100% so far are [I ain't knowing what plat is as I am playing on pc through steam]:
M&B Warband
CS2 [kekw]
Wolfenstein The New Order
Nekopara vol 0
Polygoneer

For me it depends on how difficult achieving the trophies are. I enjoy a good challenge but if it's something that I have to go ridiculously out of my way for, I'll usually just leave them be.

The game being really good, containing reasonable achievements(no ultra grindy stuff for example) and having longevity/replay value. That's about it.

I'm more than happy to 100% a game that very strongly clicks with me.
But I'm not an achievement hunter. If I'm not happy spending that much time on the game naturally, I'm not doing it.

If it's an easy platinum or it's a game I enjoyed and like I said easy trophies. Trophies don't mean anything to me at all. I do them if they are in range not because I want to do they most don't interest me in the slightest.

Like for some of visual novels sure the endings (Date A Live trilogy/Rio Reincarnation, I should continue Raging Loop but the story isn't grabbing me much). If others that differs. I platinumed Spyro/Ratchet (some not all) because I know those games well enough.

I'm just glad the Spyro Reignited trophies didn't have all skill points or I'd not have the Platinum. I hate 100% everything trophies. The general 100% for a game is fair, all the side content nah not into that at all.

For Grid Legends it's wasn't too hard to platinum. Neither was Diofield for how bad Diofield was of lacking depth and a really boring story for half the game. Chapter 5+ was so boring and repetitive. I planned to platinum it so I committed to it.

Most offer particular things i can't do of certain challenges (almost beat Gravity Rush 1 Remastered but a few things to find or some challenges scores I can't beat), or higher difficulty trophies or other stuff I don't understand or care to do. Most side trophies just don't interest me for the effort.

Ratchet 1 or even 2016 the race time I can't beat it but can the other race trophy or other parts of the games. Also the 'use the weapon on all enemies' I hate those they are so dumb and a waste of my time. I have to beat the game again just to do that because repeating levels won't have all enemies, so stupid.

If the game is fun and still has a good amount of replayability content, I'll try for the Plat.

For me personally, I dont decide to plat a game before I start it, I like to play through the games normally and them I'll see how far I am from getting the plat trophy. I will also look at the trophies im missing to see how hard they are to get and that's pretty much decide if im gonna plat a game. One thing for sure is that if a game requires you to do more than 2 playthroughs there's no way im 100% it. My most recent platinums have been Assassins Creed Syndicate and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Both games are fairly easy to get the platinum trophy.

I never 100%-ed a game that actually hard a percentage counter.
Most of the activities tracked by it are just low effort bloat, that took less time to develop than to do once.
Example: Collect 100 feathers in AC2...

Dunno why people spend so much time for trophies, I see them as Devs troll more than a challenge. I'd rather just re-play the game in the way that I want.

usually open world is fun to explore but i didn't even touch far cry 5 dlc because i was so exhausted doing final mission

100% to me is when i beat the game's goal like beating story missions. i stopped caring about platform's achievement as it is usually tedious because collecting stuff is boring if doing it for every game.

diving underwater to get stuff while avoiding shark in a creed game wasn't fun at all so i didn't do it. diving in the witcher 3 wasn't fun so i didn't do it. heck even fighting enemies on water in witcher 3 gets tedious fast lol

No online trophies. If I really love a game I will probably get all the achievements unless there is online trophies as I have a hatred towards them.

@Zekkenshin That’s a great approach! Multitasking with podcasts or sporting events can definitely make the grind feel more engaging and less monotonous. It’s impressive that you achieved 100% sync on most of the Assassin's Creed games—sounds like a satisfying accomplishment!

@sam0090 Yeah it was actually pretty fun because I just enjoyed the game worlds so much. The last one I did was Origins though, mainly because Odyssey & Valhalla were just too big for me.

It's usually when a game allows me to easily return to previous sites and collect the missed items there. And also when there are no missable achievements, I usually don't start over a game just to change a few things

Nothing. I don't have the patience or attention span for that shizz. Especially if just the main campaign is already long enough as is.

For me, going for 100% completion feels like the most natural thing to do. It boggles my mind how majority of gamers have the mentality of "I just want to beat the game". As if beating a game means anything? Those people have no sense of curiosity. The journey isn't over until you've seen all the game has to offer. Only valid excuse is when a game is too grindy or has too many pointless tasks such as "find every turd we've hidden at the bottom of the ocean".
