The most iconic anime scene of all time, right here. Mostly because EVERY DAMN ANIME only ever references Ashita no Joe as just "the cross counter anime". Like animators, REFERENCE SOMETHING ELSE ABOUT ASHITA NO JOE!!! Like this scene, which is also fucking iconic, so iconic that the even Ashita no Joe 2 referenced it.   |

The ones I put below aren't the moments I think are the "most" iconic in all of anime but they are pretty iconic. Save the soul society. | For a SoL, yuri fan like me I gotta go with the scarf straightening scene from Maria-sama ga Miteru. I've probably seen at least eight anime referencing/parody-ing the same scene (Luck Star probably most known). While there are vids that include this scene I didn't find one of it exclusively so I made my own (why not :) TV Tropes mentions it as well:
In fact, I may as well link the page because it has heaps more relevant to this thread. Oh, one scene that comes to mind is the Ashita no Joe slumped-over-on-a-stool scene. Bocchi the Rock references it and I've seen others besides Bocchi make the same reference. I haven't seen Ashita yet myself but after seeing the scene referenced so many times I had to find out where it was from :)  Also the "Nice boat!" meme from School Days. A couple from Space Battleship Yamato: 1) Yamato lifting off from Earth for 1st time (shedding it's debris camouflage while doing so). Helps when it's shown repeatedly in the OP, too. 2) Firing of the Wave Motion Gun. |
