I hope Urokodaki was very popular in the past so people will get surprised when Tanjirou tells them who his master was.

All right episode, the reveal about those 2 kids was interesting.
Come on man, where is that Noragami season 3 masterpiece. We want it, Bones!

U Sensai didn't want to see another student die which is understandable it explains why he would just suddenly abandon Tanjiro.
Tanjiro really is a true MC because bro has a strong forehead and no dad and a sad background you know bro will end up being OP someday ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
My question is though can he summon spirits? How on earth did he train with the dead and his family members keep on waking him up and giving him strength?
I swear one day we are going to see Tanjiro summon the spirits of all of the fallen Demon Slayers and they will have an all-out war with the demons๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ because it doesn't make sense why he would have this ability if that wasn't the case.
Bro's mental resilience is crazy to be able to challenge such a powerful demon despite being petrified is impressive and seeing him get sad over losing his friends pulls on your heartstrings.
All of the other slayers in the exam are actual neeks.

I prefer long haired Tanjirou lol but it may get his way when fighting. That demon lasted for a long time and killed a lot . Geez.

The visuals are brilliant, especially the water effects when he uses a special sword technique.

This reminds me of the Chuunin exam in Naruto - an unnecessarily lethal way to test who is ready to qualify. You've spent a year training these kids and then you send them off to probably die? Really? What if they just needed a few more months or years of training?

I've watched up to and including this episode and the show seems kinda boring so far. Is it worth continuing, does it get better?

I don't really care about long action scenes or whatever, and I find the main character to be annoying. Just wondering if the plot will get interesting and if actually likable characters will be introduced.

The two spirits helping Tanjiro cutting through the boulder already seemed kind of a deus ex machina. The opening thread looks like another way of making the MC OP in an unusual way as well. He gets knocked out by the demon that killed Sabito and Makomo but then gets reawakened by the dream of his brother. His first confrontation with a powerful enemy that killed so many people, including Urokodaki's pupils, ends in a not-so-hard success.
I feel like there isn't a deep character development, but rather a bunch of devices to quickly turn the MC in an unmatched epic demon slayer. We'll see. Despite that, the animation is incredible and it's what keeps me sticked to the series the most for now.
Sorry for my awkward English.

look, the fight was very good and the part with Urokodaki too, but what a rubbish villain this is ''I've already killed one, two, three,... you'll be the fourteenth'' what an expository dialogue, what is this for? haha ha

Episode 4 of *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba* continues to build on the strong foundation laid by the earlier episodes, delivering a mix of intense action and emotional depth. This episode marks a significant turning point for Tanjirou as he faces a crucial challenge that will test all the skills he has gained through his rigorous training.

The episode is visually stunning, with the animation quality reaching new heights. The fight scenes are beautifully choreographed, with fluid movements and striking effects that enhance the intensity of the battles. The show continues to impress with its ability to blend action with deeper emotional stakes, making each confrontation feel meaningful.

Character development is also a key highlight in this episode, as we see Tanjirou's growth not just in his combat abilities but also in his understanding of the world he's stepping into. The bonds he's formed with his mentor and other figures play a crucial role, adding layers of complexity to the narrative.

Without giving too much away, this episode sets the stage for what promises to be an intense and thrilling arc. Fans of the series will find a lot to love here, as the story continues to evolve, and the stakes get higher. If you've enjoyed the series so far, Episode 4 is sure to keep you hooked with its mix of action, emotion, and top-notch animation.

This episode was really good, I think the direction was perfect.

The standout for me, is how they managed to make the start of the exam so tense. I was genuinely there with Tenjiro like "let's go Tenjiro, we can do this", then to just be like "ok, I'm leaving, good luck Tenjiro!" when the first demon appeared. The horror of the scene was really well captured. And the fight scenes were amazing. The showed us Tenjiro using for the first time the "spirits" (was is the spirits?, I don't remember the word they used), although they really never explained it before, I think they just mentioned them in episode 3 I believe.
Sabito and Makomo make another appearance, and I'm glad they did, because it would be sad if they just disappeared, I know they're dead, but still. Wasn't really shocking to know that they were indeed spirits of dead children, but it was shocking to know they both died during the exam, from the same demon, and they were both gruesome deaths... Makomo's dispair after seeing Sabito die must have been so bad :( They did a good job at making us feel their deaths, even if we only know them for 1 episode, and their deaths weren't really shown to us. I'm really glad that Tenjiro was able to avenge their deaths, by killing that demon. At the end of the day, Tenjiro was stronger now that Sabito. I wonder what was Sabito and Makomo's relationship though (brother and sister?).
Since Tenjiro's master didn't want him to go to that exam, since last time it lead to the death of Sabito and Makomo, which I think he had a lot of hope for, and many others of his disciples, it makes you wonder if any of his disciples have passed this exam, with the exception of the one we meet in episode 1, but that one clearly didn't encounter that demon. Also, it's nice to see that his master actually really cares for him, and didn't want this life for him, but understands why he needs to be a demon slayer, and how he is assuming responsibility for Nezuko, if something happens to Tenjiro (because I assume if Tenjiro didn't come back home, he would take care of Nezuko for the rest of his life).
This episode had a lot to digest, and I like that, and I'm curious in which direction the next episodes are going to take in the rest of the exam, because I suppose that Demon was probably the strongest from the forest. Also, the blonde guy made it's first appearance. I receive a bit of a spoiler about him, so I wonder how he will appear. I suppose we are getting to know him next episode.

On a side note, why are the people from the Demon Slayer cooperation sending those people to that forest, knowing very well there is a demon that killed 50 people there, and is just continuing to kill more and more. Like, it doesn't seem really sustainable at the long term, since they will not have Demon Slayers in the future. They should be glad Tenjiro resolved that issue.

Another episode with gorgeous ost and animation. That wisteria path looked so beautiful. The breath animation looked amazing too.
Those kids met quite a gruesome ending. I guess since none of his students came back, he never got to know which demon killed them, maybe?

I am also wondering if he somehow knew that it was the same demon that was killing all of his students.

Damn... It's so good when you're finally becoming interesting in watching a new anime. Tanjiro is such a lovely character and it makes me enjoy watching every step of him

Meanwhile, some things don't make sense to me. They make one episode to make him learn how to cut the rock, but he practices for a year. It's pretty crazy

But I know one thing... Any detail doesn't affect my experience cause it's been the first anime I've been willing to keep watching in a few. I just hope it gets better and better.
