A very strong episode, whole riots and Jessica's death during this was pretty damn sad. She really deserved better

It seems that Greenhill's military jute is as bad as expected, he really can't be redeemed now

great episode, good battle with reasonable tactics and fleet movements. Why Bagdash didn't kill Yang at the start I'm not sure, probably as he knew that would mean his death. Really liked Jessica.

Legitimately the first episode that I could call genuinely poignant and sad. And as some have said here, I mean I enjoyed the anime so far and all, especially the impressively intricate worldbuilding and of course typical corny 80s cliches, but now I'm starting to really feel something. I really liked Jessica, and I do think her friendship with Yang (even if it was evidently more than that, I still prefer to think of them as good friends) actually made this episode rather powerful.

I'm sad Jessica died so early. I really liked her character and was looking forward to seeing more of her in the future. Now I kinda feel like anyone other than Reinhardt and Yang can die at any point in this series.

What an intense and moving episode! This series just keeps getting better. Still early on but I'm really getting attached to it. Speaking of which, I'm also sad to see Jessica gone. I was hoping she would be a strong force for change, although I suspect her presence will continue to be felt for some time.

The protest scene was crazy, the crowds screams/reactions felt so real. I can't believe Jessica was killed, she was an awesome character who I really loved :( I wished to see more of her throughout the series, it's a shame, although there will definitely be many repercussions because of her death for a while now- her presence will most likely still be felt.

Wow... the scene in the stadium with the riot and Jessica's totally unexpected death was, by far, the most intense in the series so far... I felt very sad for Jessica - but this regime doesn't have much to live. Rally the people against you and you're through, sooner or later - so, in a way, Jessica won.

This series is incredible and easily among the best written anime series I have ever seen. There's only one "flaw", in my opinion, which I hope will be limited later on: we've seen too many characters come and go in those 20 plus episodes, so far. And while this enhances the sense of realism and the epic scope, it doesn't help you invest in the characters as much as you'd like. If these were chapters in a book, we would be reading about those characters and get to know them better. But in 20 episodes of an anime series things are different. For example, I wish we could have seen more of Yang and Jessica together.

Other than this, one thing is certain: this is a looong series... so we'll definitely be spending a lot of time with the main cast, at least! Perhaps this is more than enough.
