My taste in music is so individual that it is really hard for others to suggest something that I then actually end up liking. The specific song I listened to had a rather repetitive chorus and the range of tones was not really wide. I can't really put it into words because I haven't study music theory at all. I liked the general vibe, but I didn't like the song. My Japanese is also not on a level to comment on how much I liked the lyrics because I can't even understand them. So it is really hard to give it a fair critique. ๐ค What do you think about the group's character designs? To be honest I don't really see the point why people use drawn characters to represent real life people. I guess bands like Gorillaz did that as well, but in that case it was a single person playing the role of all the band members. If you are a real person going out and produce a work of art as a band, why not show who you really are instead of using drawn characters? The characters in the music video were well designed and good looking. Way better then I could have ever drawn them. But I don't see the point of using drawn characters as representations of real people. All the VTubers like Kizunai Ai are also a bit of a mystery to me. (Is this music video a VTuber group?) But if people prefer looking at non-real people instead of real people I guess they found their niche which allows them to exist. It is not my cup of tea though. ๐ค Any other comments? I did look up the other MVs of this group and found that both edN and S∀G∀ matched my taste. I confess I don't listen to K-pop that much but having a younger cousin blasting K-pop from across the room help me get the hold of what K-pop sounds like. Second is the English word pronunciation. We probably how weird some Japanese VAs speak English in anime, so that left a strange impression in me that Japanese don't pronounce English that well but, this group have proven its wrong and I regret having such unthoughtful impression. The song wasn't that bad for me, but its not something I would actively listen to. If it came on a playlist I would probably still play it and not skip it, but I wouldn't actively look for it. ๐ค If you enjoyed the song(s), what did you like about it? The Cat's Whiskers character designs were definitely something, they had the whole package with the professional cool looking avatars and the silly and thug looking characters. The laid back atmosphere and the chill vibes it's giving off. Honestly you can have it as a background and do everything. It is not something I would remember to search for and play it but if I came across it I would not skip it. Will add it to one of the playlists so I don't completely forget about it and so that I can research the band a bit more once I find the time. The beat was very nice and I think the singers in the group go really well together with each one of them having a different style. I also like that they have like a main boss character (the dude with a fedora) so I am guessing he is the lead singer and that seems to be reflected with the character design. ๐ค Any other comments?
