| Kenshin's next target: this Kurogasa serial killer who has killed all types of people, political and all, even the Gun Bearing Police. It's people like Kurogasa that Kenshin knows all too well with their unique blade traits, especially his Nikaido Heiho, the Shin no Ippo a.k.a one-sided heart skill. But the police chief Tani is stubborn, and when both Kenshin and Sanosuke came in, he was scared shitless to allow free reign from the Himura Battosai. Indeed, Kurogasa came for the kill, though Kaoru has the certain unsavory feeling that Kenshin will not make it out alive. The Isukumi Spell that Kenshin has heard so much of being a rumor being a pure assassin: the Rogue Hitokiri Jin-e Udo. Himura Battosai vs. the Rogue Hitokiri, they're in a league of their very own, though this battle will be a long-drawn one to settle a 10-year long feud, right at a riverbank. Despite obvious warnings, Kaoru still wants to see Kenshin fight and protect him, if he chooses to leave her at the unopportune time. Sure, Kaoru managed to find Kenshin and entrusts her ribbon to him, though she got kidnapped by Jin-e in a flash. One super effective cliffhanger, Kenshin is ready for the kill. |

| This feels like where the show is starting to hit it's groove a lot more. More slapstick and ridiculous expressions between the main group start to appear here, which greatly improve the atmosphere. I feel the background music isn't entirely on point still, and there are still some disconnects where things feel for some reason flat and rote. This might be about dunamism in the animation. The voice acting seems quite on point, or at least I feel the seiyuu are doing well. I like the jp seiyuu (as a fit for the character anyways) for the reboot more than the 90s casting. Overall, this is the best episode thus far. 7 does even better. hopefully the studio is getting in the groove for figuring out everything now. I do like the colours and glossiness in the adaptation quite a bit. There might be some background foreground stuff which seems off, maybe in lighting and textures (might contribute to flatness.) Overall, I'm pretty excited to see the story progress. And hoping the studio figures out the missing je ne sais pas to give the remake what it fully deserves. |

| You know, I thought Kaoru was going to be able to protect herself at least a couple episodes back when she fought off the chump guys. Now she gets whisked away at the end of the episode.. although I guess this guy isn't the same as those kind of chumps. Would have liked to see her try and step on his foot or something to struggle. But here we have a guy who maybe on't get one-tapped like the one-note villains of the past. Don't know how much more effective this guy can be when his paralyzing ability does nothing to Kenshin, but I guess as long as he dangles Kaoru in some dangerous scenario Kenshin won't be able to think straight. Think pissing Kenshin off more would be counter-productive to you standing a chance against him tho. Kenshin + rage buff could probably solo anyone. |

| I like seeing Kenshin and Sanosuke together on a guarding mission, but that Jinne guy is hardcore with his legendary skill, especially how he kidnapped Kaoru right after we got that sweet romance part with Kenshin, at least now we know what they need to do next |
