The past of Yukito's family with said boy, his parents and Jingi, along with the other Ley Masters, this was at the time of the fire dragon pacifying ceremony when the accompanying water dragon is out, being the equivalent of an erupting volcano with each passing year. That role is passed to Haruaki and Aka, along with Yanagi's father who leads the charge, but it's clear that pacifying the fire dragon this time has gotten out of hand.

With the fire dragon brought out from its slumber, the barrier of generations has held up, and it's up to both Haruaki and Aka to keep the status quo. But the power of the fire dragon is too strong and the seal breaks, and Yukito's father came to the rescue to help the process of the sealing, with Haruaki and Aka running for their lives away from the Ayaka Islands. And as where Yukito's story began, the Ayaka Islands suffered terrible damage, along with the loss of Yukito's father, plus the feud between Haruaki and Aka which has been strained to this moment.

The much-needed backstory, though how the future will change from here, it's anyone's guess.

These two overconfident idiots... And Aka still hasn't learned any better.

Sensei dying with a smile on his face was pretty badass. Series is still very disappointing, but can’t lie that was a nice emotional ending.

was nice finding out more about the past. although my heart broke a little bit when it showed just what caused haru and aka to start fighting and get on bad terms with eachother. and jingi must've been stuck in the middle of it all these years, so i really feel for him. probably a contributing factor to why he drinks so much.

yukito was such a cute kid. so was jingi. i hope they're eventually able to help aka and haru make up so the three of them can rebuild their little family they lost.

Even though it's pretty late, there's finally some backstory! And the "past plot" is a lot better than the "present plot" too.

Still a lot of unawnsered questions though. Especially regarding Yukito and Jingi.

Overall the episode was really good. But lacked progression and only adressed the characters who were already well developed, while the others remain as bland as ever.

The Fire Dragon's design is actually badass. So that's how they got the burn marks on their shoulders.

Finally we got the backstory! Nice episode!

Good Voice Acting, good soundtrack (the one in the dragon fight scene was fire)

I liked the fact that Yanagi died with a smile

They could have animated the fight Yanagi vs. Fire Dragon though. I don't really get why they skipped it

Jingi's face in the last scene was good, i like that he also has a rather sad side

I've been thinking the same too. It would make sense, specially because he seems to have a huge power inside...

Great episode! All the characters are growing on me

Man everyone is really scarred from this night. They must all blame themselves for the master's death. Really sad that Yukito have forgotten everything about his past.
