Every time the Earth spins on its axis makes a different day, and the Earth orbits around te Sun in about 365.25 days, which makes a year. This year of 365 days (adding a day every four years to adjust for the .25, called a "leap year") is conventionally divided in 12 months, and also in chunks of 7 days called "weeks", and each of these 7 days has a different name (Monday, Tuesday etc.) But 365 is not divisible by 7: there is always an extra day (or two if it is a leap year). This means that the days of the week do not repeat from year to year: every day of the year alternates between week days, skipping one on leap years. So, in 2022 August 1 was a Monday; in 2023 it is a Tuesday, in 2024 (leap year) it will be a Thursday, in 2025 it will be a Friday. Every day of the year at one point or other falls on every possible week day. Every possible week day. Let that sink in.

Now, if that is so, WHY ON EARTH, WHY FOR ALL THAT IS SACRED, WHY I ASK THE HEAVENS ABOVE AND THE INFERNAL REGIONS BELOW, DOES VALENTINE'S DAY NEVER FALL ON A WEEKEND IN ANIME????

Or is there any anime where this happen and that I'm missing? Even so, it would be the exception that proves the rule. My own theory is that no school anime has ever been set in those years that have February 14 falling on a Saturday or Sunday. They skipped 2009, 2010, 2015, 2016 and 2021, and they will also skip 2026 and 2027, if I got my calculations right. This is a CONSPIRACY.

A very nice thought experiment here, and my best guess for this is since it is school life anime, the creators want to portray Valentines' Day happening at school.
Summertime days, passing gently
Sunlight, leading to an encounter;
Dreams that don't want to end
Continue onwards toward the next day
While she waits in the air.

It probably falls on the weekend, since I have seen white day 14th March fall on the weekend..
Since non leap February and March has identical dated days...
So the valentine shit that falls on the weekend are celebrated on Friday...

Ingenious, but far fetched. No; obviously the government is trying to hush up something.

The people who invented Valentine's day were clearly amateurs. The holidays invented by professionals are all defined as "<n>th <day of week> of <month>" to avoid such issues.

If it falls on the weekend they will gift the presents on the next Monday. Just like in real life. You are welcome.

Never thought about it though, an interesting observation...

Authors can set their stories in any year they want.

Sure, because you've seen a lot of anime where they say "Today is Monday Feb 15, here's yesterday's choco for you," right? Look, you wanna play blind man, go walk with the shepherd. Me, my eyes are wide fucking open. Because they always shove the actual date in your face:

Trust me, I've been researching the subject for the last 8 years.

It's a canon event, a universe with a weekend valentine's day cannot and must not exist in anime.

Absolutely, the cyclical nature of days, weeks, months, and years can be quite fascinating when you break it down. The irregularity in the number of days in a year compared to the seven-day week is why the days of the week don't align perfectly from year to year. This phenomenon is known to some  rainguardroofs as the "Doomsday Rule," which helps calculate the day of the week for any given date.

The better question is why Christmas themed episodes always air in summer.
