This movie was great, the ending felt a bit rushed though. They did a surprisingly decent job at explaining their philosophical stance for such a short runtime. The rest was just really stylish and captivating.

Cucumber ice cream is the best!

Overall a good anime, though perhaps not the best in the Itoh Trilogy. 7.5/10 from me. I suppose it takes some real guts to make this anime because the story is basically an orgy of taboos especially in a society like Japan. I'd tip my hat to that. Art design and visual presentation are thoughtful if not completely original (Micah's design is basically Yuzuriha Inori from Guilty Crown but edgier).

The themes are thought-provoking in certain regards if not totally satisfying. Some may find the ending terrifying but I thought it's ok.

very depressing that this is by the tekkonkinkreet director. i couldn't even finish it. it just sucked absolute ass.

This was something else, especially with how well-researched its conversations around the human consciousness & the like was. And I find it poetic how Tuan, being a person with a conscious mind, made a quite irrational choice in the end, proving Miach's point.

I saw someone saying this movie brings up an interesting problem without providing a solution, but I think that was the point, there is no solution. Anyway, good movie.
