| Well it was okay. I liked the setting and theme of the show but it kind of felt like a boring slice of life anime. The story is interesting with the main character wanting to be a vampire but his reasoning is superficial, immature and stupid. Also the logic behind "falling in love" to be become a vampire is nonsensical imo. How does that even work? LOL The other issue is the main character Kou who is ignorant. His motivation behind enjoying the night and skipping school is to escape from his self-inflicted problems. There is nothing deep, meaningful, sad, tragic or depressing about it for me to give a shit. Nazuma is a bit more interesting than him and so are some of the other characters but nobody's extraordinary. Realistically, there is no need to have vampires if all the main character wants is to have fun and freedom at night. Their existence serves no real purpose if the main didn't care about becoming a vampire. But then the show might become more boring. |
| Even if romance animes aren't really my thing but i like seeing dynamics between lovable people especially and overall this anime is pretty okay for me but ofc it was still an enjoyable ride. |

| NOOOOO! I don't want it to end... I loved this anime waaaay more than I was expecting to. I really love Kou & Nazuna and I wanna see more of their story. I feel like this anime really captured the magic and ethereal feel of night so well too. I really hope we get a season 2 but in the mean time I'm definitely going to read the manga! |

| The last scene in this was brilliant. Determination and heart brushed aside the doubt, and paved the way for a revitalization of Kou's spirit. It isn't intended to be an ending, but that's because the manga isn't even finished yet. With that in mind, I'd kill for a second season. This anime is pure excellence from start to finish. |

| To my surprise, this is better than I expected. What I really love about this is how they portray the night as the best period of time, because they make it looks amazing. Never got bored throughout the series, it's nice, chill, and fun to watch. |

| If I had to describe this show in a single word it would probably be 'lame'. It has nothing to show for itself other than the op & end songs, and the colorful pallet chosen for it's animation. 6/10 |
| This was a lot better than I expected. I love anime that start off seemingly innocent/chill but gradually open up into a much larger plot than what you initially anticipated. Plus visuals and soundtrack were top class. 9/10 |
| After finishing it, I found it worse than expected, still good, but definitely didn't live up to my expectation at the beginning of the series. The show mostly gets carried by the vibe and while it appears that there are things going on in the background, nothing really happens and there's no real thought to anything. It was even a plot point that the mc had no real reason to want to be a vampire, something that was never really resolved at the end. I had high expectations because the start carried a lot of mysterious vibe and there were things going on that I thought would get explored as the show goes on, but none of it really got touched on much. Characters come in to light and just as quickly return back to the background (for example Akira, who surfaced for two or three episodes and then quickly became a background character that sometimes show up in random scenes without really affecting the story in any meaningful way). I guess part of my expectation also had to do with the recs to bakemonogatari, which does seem like they have similarities at the start. But unlike monogatari where every single thing has meaning, and actions have consequences and the plot moves along this line, yofukashi no uta fails to really do anything but run in circles. I'm sure some of the things that were shown will be explored later, but after a season of this, I really wonder if this series will go anywhere. |

| this series was really nice though i will say the mc male kou.... he was not bad at first but as the series went on there was a good amount of annoying points with him that just made me not like him much anymore though who knows if he becomes better as the series goes on (will have to check out the manga) but as of the end of this anime i just dont like him much with that said Nazuna completely loved her and she carried the series for me also Akira was pretty nice also now to wonder if this series will get another season or not as i would love another season of this series but guess we'll have to wait and see |

| Enjoyed this series :) It was unique and I liked the characters, Nazuna's VA, the OP/ED and also the especially the song about how "the telephone poles are snoring vending machines are dozing something-something oo oo ooh" :p .. the songs gave it a real theatrical feel, maybe it's just me hehe.. And, really like the vibe and the atmosphere in this anime, justifies the title "call of the night" . I would've liked it more if it was just Nazuna and Kou, like in the initial episodes with them just bantering and walking around, goofing about here and there.. but the involvement of supporting characters was quite fine too.. I liked the easy interaction between all the characters and the dialogues are written just fine - not too flat, but not too contrived either.. This reminds me, what about the creepy detective? I wonder if we should wait for the next season or catch up in manga? The animation was sooo good in some scenes, especially in the later half of the anime - like the way the colors switch up suddenly in some scenes.. beautiful! |

| Cute end to a pretty fun season. I really love her going in for the kiss at the end. MC also blushed big time.. Think he's finally starting to "feel it" now. (seriously though.. what the hell is it with japanese media and characters who "don't get" love or sexual things even on a basic level? Is this a cultural/writing trope or something more serious?) I could have done without the trap reveal though. 8.5/10 ----- As for the season.. Everything was moving along great from beginning to end.. all except for the little bump when they tried to play up the drama aspect.. I could have did without that. Happy we got the other vampire characters, just wish the darker life or death stuff didn't need to get used here. All in all it was a fun, fresh series. Lots of cute girls, a cute romance and some action. Hope we get a second season! 9/10 -------------------- Final thoughts.. I really REALLY wish people who are unable to tell reality from fiction and fantasy, you just stop watching and shut up about how "problematic" they find fictional stories or characters. I don't need to know or hear about your moral hangups with imaginary things. Especially in reviews! It's only second in annoyance to people who can't shut up (or stop watching/reviewing) series with fanservice upfront and center, who then complain endlessly about it. |
