I don't think the Japanese fans are unaware of fake 1-star reviews at all. I also don't think that the drop in score is necessarily due to those fake reviews.

So far I've only seen 4 episodes, but even so I can say that the show had a great opening episode (I'd give it an 8-8,5/10) which really helped it go gain massive attention and high scores.

Episodes 2-4 are nowhere near that level, they seem a bit closer to a more generic high school show and I wonder if it would not have been better to make episode 1 a season on it's own and episodes 2-11 the second season. There is enough content in episode 1 to form an entire season around it after all so it could have been done.

Also, in episodes 2-4 the Protagonist (Aqua) has turned into a nearly as creepy and obsessed "looser" as the stalker in episode 1 and he even ruins his sisters attempts to follow in her mothers footsteps and live her live the way she wants (which, while somewhat understandable given what happened to their mother still annoys me), worst of all he doesn't even realize it.

That puts me personally a bit off because I dislike his character after that. Especially given that he's the mature one of the 2 children (he was an adult after all) and even worse he was a doctor, so if anyone should have been able to move on from the death of Ai, it should have been him but no he turns into an obsessed "looser".

Here we go again with this crap. The score is declining because people are giving it 7 and 8 now, unlike fanboys who spammed 10 when 1st ep aired. Besides most of the 1's isn't even counted, if you look at the statistics the 1's percentage is actually declining while 7/8/9 is increasing. This will gradually dropout of top 25 in few months after its finished airing

Very true, having such a huge pool of voters who all account for the same percentage of the score isn't really meaningful, especially since so many people here brigade shows

3rd/4th week of May - 3500+
Now - 5000+

That sure is increasing alright.also, statistically, outliers do affect data drastically. so a 7/8/9 wouldn't affect something as drastically as 1/2 would.

thiis is the reason many good animes have fallen out of top 10 over a period of time.also hate factor.....

lmao what a dumb take lol. You need to compare it on percentage basis. I remember this thing having 3.5% 1's during mid may, now it's at 2.9%. On the other hand it had 60%+ 10's but its dropped to 55% while 7/8/9's has been gradually increasing

that is the percentage of total votes. i don't disagree that the % of 7/8/9 is increasing, but..

take average of 10 10 1 and 10 10 7 and tell me which is bigger. then tell me average of 10 7 7. my math might be stupid, but this is what I mean by outliers

EVERY SINGLE HYPED SHOW ON MAL SLOLWLY LOOSES IT'S RATING, WITH VERY FEW SHOWS BEING THE EXCEPTION.

the only anime that I know have gone up with time are sonny boy and serial experiments lain.

the show still has an extremely high rating. when the article phrases it like "ThE RaTiNg iS gOiNG DoWn" like it's an abnormal thing, people who don't know how mal works, aka japanese fans get the wrong idea. the think the show must have gotten "bad" for the rating to go down. not knowing how normal it is.

it's not the fmab 1/10 spam. there was a bit of that at the start when episode 1 came out, but not anymore. the show has been slowly going down long after the review bombs, because again,

THAT'S HOW EVERY.SINGLE.HYPED.ANIME.GOES.
