THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The repetitiveness is getting pretty boring, and how Conan know's the exact motive without us showing us how he knows about the paintings. Though, it was still a good episode. I wonder if one of these murder methods would work in real life. o_o

I think you missed the scene were Conan is below the table watching the book with the paintings. He knew about them thanks to that.

It doesn't explain how he knew his toenail would be painted.

Yes, it does. In the episode, the staff tells Conan that the girl always did mischevious things in the parties.

I found the minute in the episode: 10:59 -> "These are the photos we took the other day when we went to a party. She loved to make fun of other people while they were asleep".

That's quite an impossible leap I'm afraid. She loves to make fun of people while they sleep, therefore she will have painted this guy's right toenail? It doesn't follow.

I admit that the show sometimes concludes the cases in a forced way, but: Nail painting + the murderer didn't have any marks of paint in his hand nails + Conan's logic = Case closed.

The way I look at it... Conan has a super computer somewhere that he hides and processes all logical conclusions and crazy ideas (e.g. his brain) and then comes up with some CRAZY shenanigans and it's right about 99% of the time.

Great episode. I want to try that murder technique LOL. It seems interesting. But I don't have a little drain hole on the ground or a balcony. XD

Yeah, the right toenail was a really crazy deduction! Haha. I wouldn't have gotten it.

Would fishing string hold up a body? And it was ok, I liked the trick though it was basically impossible to figure out.

Haha I'm glad that bitch Chouno died. Figured out that the door and some fishing line was used, by know I already know that piano wire and fishing line are infinitely strong in Detective Conan.

Conan knew the toenail was painted because of the nailpolish spilt at the bottom of the bed on the sheets. I don't know how well he examined the victim but he knew her nails weren't painted. Of course it wasn't obvious the victim and the culprit were lovers so it was more of a guess that he was the one asleep in the bed, but the fact his fingernail was painted in the same shade also helped bring him to the conclusion.

However what I find most unusual was the method the culprit used to pull off the fake suicide, it was a great technique but he was so panicked when cleaning up her blood I doubt he'd manage to pull it off on the fly like that. It seems like this technique should have been used in a case where more time and planning could be put in. Unless he was the type of person to spend his time thinking long and hard how he'd pull of the perfect crime.

Refined trick. I just found it bad that we
knew from the beginning who the culprit
was. And, yes, I thought as well about
the improbability of a tiny string to hold
a body for so long. Otherwise, superb!

They made Conan sound too confident that the guy would have one of his toes painted with her symbol. What if it was painted on the other foot instead or neither of them? Other than that glaring gripe the rest was good.

Yikes, it's not like she was being unreasonable. He's the one who took the credit for her paintings and used Chouno as his personal booty call rather than leaving his wife instead of constantly cheating on her. Don't see how that justifies murder.

You're probably right, but it's been 3 years since I watched this episode so I don't remember shit. Who the fuck is Chouno?

one of the lesser deductions, felt the conclusion for hard evidence was forced but nonetheless a great contraption conceived by the writers and for conan to figure out

I liked the trick the murder did, but otherwise that was weird, especially how we knew about the murderer since the very beginning
