Why does anime get shunned for using cliches and tropes moreso than Western animation?

Like American cartoons are guilty of cliches and tropes too. They aren't devoid of those the same way with genre oversaturation in which most American cartoons are comedies similar to how most modern anime are Isekai. Why is anime given more fingers pointed when American cartoons face similar problems?

I think it might be because we're on an anime forum.

We have now way more anime than western animation and people consume too much anime. Maybe that is the reason?

Anime is just as rich in cliches as Western animation. Just by virtue of the audience, many of us hate American clichés, but considered Japanese clichés to be actual and cool. There is no quantitative difference here, but rather a qualitative one, or even a taste difference to a large extent.

because like 12 pieces of western fantasy animation come out per year compared to over 100 anime and only like 2-3 western shows are meant to hold up to any writing scrutiny since most are aimed at very young children

like lmao this year it's literally... Unicorn: Warriors Eternal. that's it. and then we look at the dozens of garbage 4/10-at-best seasonal anime that premier, which are all aimed at the same target audience (idiot degens), and it's much easier to critique them against each other.

yea as people have already said, there's way less western animation compared to anime getting released yearly. in this case it's better to compare anime to the western movies as they are about as mass produced and as oversaturated with multiple chliches as anime is

Partly because there are no known online Western animation platforms for fans to whine about such things at least none that I know about.

If you took away all social platforms associated with Anime likely no one would be talking about these things.

Anime is much more ambitious than western cartoons, so there is also more room for eyebrow raising.

The obvious reason that comes to mind is that cartoons are mainly watched by children in the west and children love repetition. Meanwhile, while anime is mainly watched by children to teens in Japan, in the west it's mainly watched by late teens to young adults who are naturally more critical of repetitive tropes and such.

Anime gets shunned more for its cliches and tropes because it's like a fucking breeding ground for them.. It's a trope-fest extravaganza, throwing in the same damn character archetypes, predictable plotlines, and fanservice galore. Western animation, on the other hand, is seen as more innovative and diverse. Sure, it has its own cliches and tropes, but it's not nearly as obsessed with them as anime is..

Weebs absolutely complain about non japanese cartoons.
The thing is though, most weebs don't even watch non japanese cartoons so they complain about general terms instead of focusing on cliches.
