Long story short: I've watched F/Zero S1 about a year ago. Didn't really like it so never bothered watching S2. Can I watch this one? Am I going to lost in dialogues because they will talk about Zero S2 and I won't be able to understand? Or do they act like theres never been a F/Zero anime? |

Yes, this is actually my preferred starting point, with F/0 afterwards With both F/SN:UWO and F/0, you’ll have minor spoilers for the other, so no watch order is “ideal” |

You should actually start from the first Stay Night. |

Yes, it is recommended: https://www.reddit.com/r/fatestaynight/comments/df8rvo/rfatestaynights_official_viewing_order_guide_v2/ Fate Zero is meant to be watched at the very end so you’re good |

definitely you should start from here that's to my opinion the best to start with, if you like to watch series in release order you could go with the original fate/stay night. Personally I wouldn't bother too much to watch the original one, is not the best and is known to make the new watcher drop the franchise. If you what to make the things proper though you could play the visual novel, from there you'll be able to decide for your own which stay night you want to strat with. another solution is to start with fate/ zero, is chronologically the first, but it could ruin the world introduction, which is better done in UBW and the original fate/SN |

You should finish Zero first. There are several plot points here that are confusing without the context of Zero. |

fsn 2006, ubw, hf, and then zero people like to make complicated orders for no reason just follow the order the story was made in never start with zero btw |

I watched this one before zero and i didn’t feel like I was missing anything so if you didn’t like it you don’t really need to finish zero |

Just watch the 3 stay night routes then watch Zero... This is how you need to watch it |

Zero was a prequel made after the original series so it was always optional. you can just watch this and then go watch heavens feel if you want that. |

Not to mention fate/zero is actually not a prequel to f/sn as stated in Typemoon. Simply, start with ubw anime but if you want the best way to enjoy fate, read the van as the vn was better than its adaptation🗿 |

I would reccomend in this watch order for maximum understanding and emotional impact : 1- Original (2006) Series 2- Fate Zero Seasons 1 & 2 3- UBW 4- Heaven’s Feel Movies But if you don’t want to watch the 2006 fate you can start from UBW and then watch Fate Zero and after zero , Heaven’s feel |

Fate/Zero is a Spin-Off Prequel made with the glimpse of flashbacks thrown everywhere in Fate/Stay Night. So yes , they will speak about what happened in Zero , but you are not supposed to know exactly what they are talking about. As for the starting point , you can start with UBW , but you'll miss 1/3 of the story by skipping the 2006 Anime. You already spoiled yourself of most mysteries by watching even just the 1st Episode of Zero tho. If you want a complete list of the franchise : Fate/Stay Night (2006) Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works - Prologue Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season - Sunny Day Fate/Stay Night Movie : Heaven's Feel I - Presage Flower Fate/Stay Night Movie : Heaven's Feel II - Lost Butterfly Fate/Stay Night Movie : Heaven's Feel III - Spring Song Fate/Zero Fate/Zero 2nd Season Notes : Fate/Stay Night 2006's visuals are outdated (especially when compared to Ufotable's) and if you don't understand Shirô, he can be extremely annoying... Most people suggest to skip it, but it's still the best way to get into the franchise (without reading the Visual Novel), thanks to the exposition. It's also the only series that focus on Saber, and have the fantastic OSTs of Kenji Kawai. (OST Sample) For those who aren't too familiar with the universe of the franchise, watching the Kara no Kyoukai movies (another work of the Author) can help to clarify the ending of Heaven's Feel III. Even if you don't want to read the Visual Novel, i still recommend to read the following chapters : Last Episode, Epilogue of the 2006 Anime. (There is also a Manga Adaptation of it, but it spoil Unlimited Blade Works.) When It's Spring & Cherry Blossom's Dream, a two-parts Alternative Ending to Heaven's Feel. Sparks Liner High, Shirô VS Saber Alter, one of the "Bad Ending" of Heaven's Feel. Fate/Zero is considered by many as the best series of the entire franchise. However, being a prequel, it expect you to be already familiar with the lore, and to know the outcome of it. no you do not need to watch fate 0. Yes 0 is a prequel but it was also written after fate stay night so it expects you to already know the story of stay night. While it would be best to start with saber's route that never got a proper adaptation so starting with the UBW route is the next best thing. |

INcasted said: it's almost like it follows a pattern in a way Well , of course. There is a clear pattern in the 3 Routes , in which Shirô doubt more and more about his ideals , more secrets are revealed , and those are more and more creepy. It's done on purpose to have a crescendo tension in the Visual Novel. No idea why you throw Zero between the 2006 Anime and UBW tho , it doesn't fit at all in this tension. |

INcasted said: But isn't fate zero almost a prelude to UBW AND u can't watch F/SN without watch the OG 2006 version Fate/Zero is a Prequel to the 3 Fate/Stay Night Routes. It happens before in the chronology , but was released after everything else , and was intented to be watched after everything else. It isn't only a prelude to UBW , but to the 3 Routes , and watching it before the 3 Routes spoils a lot of elements from those , especially for Heaven's Feel. (The climax of the series) What's more , Zero is in reality a fan-fiction made by another Author fan of the original Visual Novel , and he created many incoherences in his work due to him forgetting some stuff. It even have a different tone than the 2 first Routes , so inserting it here makes really no sense. |

FaarleSorkha said: Long story short: I've watched F/Zero S1 about a year ago. Didn't really like it so never bothered watching S2. Can I watch this one? Am I going to lost in dialogues because they will talk about Zero S2 and I won't be able to understand? Or do they act like theres never been a F/Zero anime? I watched Stay night before I’ve seen any other |
