The desert is definitely the worst terrain to fight Crocodile. I wonder who'll stop the sandstorm and fix up Luffy now that he's so badly injured. |

| Man I wasn’t prepared for Crocodile to stab Luffy with his hook and this is by far the first time that Luffy has not only had trouble with one of his enemies but ends up losing as well. Obviously he’s not dead dead, I mean he clearly lives considering there’s what 1119 episodes to date or in my case 1009 and I’ve hardly scratched the surface as it is but I will imagine it was probably something horrifying for people who saw it when it first aired and probably thinking that he did die. You wouldn’t think Crocodile’s Devil Fruit powers would be effective in concept but then you remember that Alabasta as a whole is a desert country, meaning there’s sand almost everywhere you go. So basically he’s in his element, so long as he’s in Alabasta, he can just control any part of the desert as he pleases because there’ll be no shortage of it. I’m honestly curious as to what Nico Robin’s deal is and I guess I can say her name now. She hangs around Crocodile as a lieutenant to him of sorts but to what end? Other than that I’d say this was a great episode both on a dramatic and a storytelling point of view personally. Great stuff regardless. |
