Eh.. This season was alright; similar to the first season, oddly enough. This show heavily relies on theatrics rather than actual strategical play - yelling and screaming really is the main plot of the story.

Honestly, the only thing I found somewhat intriguing was the ending; as Eren's dad and the Beast titan await on top of wall Maria. Other than that, besides the shocking titan plot-twist, this show is a 6/10 max.

7/10 for me. I hope s3 can surprise me bring some character and plot progression rather than a mediocre attempt of the use of theatrics - which plagued the first two seasons of the show.

i had lots of thoughts watching this ep and here is what i remember:

i knew hannes would die, it was such a shame! that was one death i felt bad for. and then eren's manic laughter was really terrifying wow his voice actor really worked overtime this ep, i hope he had a nice warm cup of tea and a lozenge

mikasa girl now is not the time to shoot your shot, you couldn't tell him earlier and more directly that you love him smh i want her to get a personality other than thinking about eren 24/7, she's such a great fighter and has lots of hidden rage

eren was able to control the titans/order them in his human form to protect him and attack other titans? interesting, i HOPE AND EXPECT that this is something that is explained later

what is the coordinate reiner keeps mentioning?????? did he explain it and i missed it? woops

something is up with erwin, he has a secret of some kind and i think it is a big one, the way he looked so happy. unless he's just a weirdo who got happy to find out more info about the titans. levi's face was totally horrified

the guy at the end on the beast titan - my first thought was that he is eren's father? who knows, the way this show has been going, it could just be a minor character with one line in total who turns out to be a huge titan lol

Man, really sucks that Hannes was eaten in front of Eren and Mikasa. But at least Eren was able to avenge him and his mom with his new Titan control power.

Damn, so Ymir really chose to go with Reiner and Bertholdt. I'm looking forward to finding out what they have to do with that Beast Titan dude.

Damn, they were so close to kiss. Poor Mikasa.

Eren got a new power, that will be really useful.

Hannes death was so sad, he just wanted to make up for Eren's mother.

Erwin is really weird, I still think that he is hiding something.

Beautiful finale for this seeason,

Eren and Mikasa moment was so precious and well made

Of course he didn't kiss Mikasa because he knew they were not dying right there and right now

The payback to the titan that killed mother was a brutal yet very fair one and perfectly showed why Eren was so needed to be captured alive by all costs.

Interesting seeing a theory at the end appear that all titans are humans because how wasn't this seriously thought about during all these years. But since the theory is now being seriously recognized Erwin might have an amazing plan for it after all.

Overall this season was a little bit less enjoyable than season 1 for me personally but regardless of that it still had an insane amount of important and memorable moments , I will be giving this season a 9 just like I did with first one and can't wait to see what awesome things season 3 will bring to the table.

Really fantastic finale. As sort of aimless/meandering as Season 2 felt for a bit at the start, this last stretch of episodes upped the atmosphere and intensity by a lot; enjoyably so. Animation was stellar as always. Erwin commanding and Eren failing to transform until Mikasa’s encouragement with the subsequent awakening of the Coordinate were absolute highlights of the entire series. Astronomical voice acting.

While it was nice to see some of the side characters get development and attention, I’m not sure I was wholly invested in them. Historia and Ymir have a sweet relationship with some interesting parallels - Reiner and co. are enigmas, even if I know more about them due to spoilers- but by and large I wasn’t on the edge of my seat looking forward to each character’s appearance like I was in S1.

However, it was good to see more mysteries and questions raised about the world (it was also good that Levi was nonexistent this season, just to give the other characters room to breathe). I already can’t wait to see how they develop these new story elements in S3 and beyond.

It was a got damn tragedy and I hated to see it happen, but this was the perfect conclusion to Hannes character arc: facing the titan he ran like hell from and, tragically, meeting his end to it.

And Eren's subsequent meltdown was agonizing. powerful stuff.

This episode had some real strong points in it, especially towards the back half. Some of the earlier parts of the episode were a bit laughable or awkward, the way that the titan's chomped the people after Erwin talked to them, and I rather disliked the Mikasa and Eren scene. I really liked seeing Erwin in general in this episode, he was particularly strong, so were some of the other side characters like Connie. Ymir's betrayal was incredibly satisfying to watch. The scene where the titans come running was incredibly beautiful. I can't wait for the plot devices set up in season two to be resolved in the future.

Really?? That's how Hannes goes out?? The fucking disrespect, man. I hated every second of his fight and I hated how Mikasa decided that it was the best time to confess while the titan that ate Ere's mom was eating Hannes in front of them.

I'm kinda glad Ymir helped Reiner. I don't care about Bert that much but I hope Reiner stays alive.
Also, I'm so fucking soft for Historia x Ymir moments!

I hope next season explains more about wtf coordinator is. It's a very specific name for it to be just a power that contols titans

My god, am I the only one who cant stand Mikasa? How about you stop trying to flirt and talk to Eren and let him concentrate on changing into titan and help out Hannes? Jesus cant stand her always wetting herself for Eren.

Sad what happened to Hannes, but I knew he's going to die for sure the moment he say he wants to go search for Eren with the survey corps.

Love the moment Erwin with Levi. Erwin's smile looks a little sinister, dont tell me he would turn out to be a "bad guy" lol

The end with the beast titan sitting "meditating" with its user coming out is some proper hype shit. Badass af

Well now I have a shit ton more questions...

Overall this season wasn't great in plot, but it did decent on the characters.
And of course the animation and sound was amazing (-that horrible ED).
And It did have a satisfying ending.

Overall I would've gave it a 6/10, but Attack on Titan is one of those few anime I can binge watch and get a shit ton of enjoyment out of. So I'll give it a 7/10 instead.

I am completely baffled by this show's popularity. What's the appeal? Is it the shock value? Is it the endless mysteries that never get resolved? Are western audiences still just amazed by the idea of an edgy, "mature" cartoon?

What a warm reunion they had and Hannes was not slowing down and taking the titan that killed Eren's mother head-on, Shit my hands felt weaker when Eren was just biting himself off it's so disturbing but dang it's intense to watch that scene

I knew that this would happen sooner than expected, RIP Hannes though their savior died like that, Damn it where's the kiss scene where I wanted it to be I was really expecting it, oh well guess it's another day, Eren has a new powerful move that he's acquired that made Reiner furious

On the other hand, humanity is getting closer to fighting the titans and unravel the great mysteries they're yet to find.

Bro this episode is a masterpiece but I can’t get over how whoever tf wrote this shit was too pussy to draw mikasa and eren kiss in that field when she was like confessing her love to him. Like mikasa looked so good I turned lesbian during that scene and eren just stood up and looked at the smiling titan like bruh I rage quit the episode and slammed my keyboard. They guy will draw an 18 foot tall hairy titan when he has openly admitted to having a hair fetish but said it would b to uncomfortable to draw mikasa and eren kiss???? Like come on man do the people a favour. I love this season but it’s a 9/10 because of that. Mikasa was like on her knees confessing her love for eren and he stood up and walked away like dead ass is he a homosexual for Jean or something like??? If the anime version of AoT ends without a mikasa eren kiss I will go back and rate the whole series a zero it will be ruined. I would rather have my mind stuck in a trance where I can only think about fortnite forever than suffer knowing it will never happen.

such a god damn banger episode, best episode uptill now.

that ost t the time of historia figjting was really good.

i was right on the death flags about hannes san, rip.

man i hate that creepy ass smiling titan so much.

the conversation between mikasa and eren was beautiful. makes me think mikasa loves eren, a lot. i've lost the count of the times when i screamed "now kiss" during that conversation lmao

when eren punched that creepy ass titan and other titan practically flew towards that creppy ass titan and started tearring him apart was so satisfying to watch, loved it when they tore away his jaw

the moment we realised that eren is the cordinate gave me chills, fuck yeah baby, what a legendary anime man, this is what we call peak fiction, 100/10

at the end what was the "not yet, huh?"

Ah yes the convenient "I can't transform" to move the plot forward.

This show would be a whole lot better if Eren wasn't the main character. He has no depth and all he does is screech and moan about literally everything. Just shut up and get in the damn robot Shinji.

It's not a bad show, but it's far from a good one either. 6/10.

Yep, mc scream ftw xd.

Eren as the mc ofc had a privilege to got that great power, out of the blue, and just because your waifu looked like to and told you, 'I'm simping you hard, baby, thank you for everything, and i always be on your side', to control every titans around those freakin world and end the game. Nice, right?

Even though above me said some ass, but more or less get the point. Erwin comment surely sum up everything, one step forward toward the truth. Whatever truth that means. Armin, and then Jean become the most genius ever by figuring out the trick and telling, Eren always their hope.

Ymir on the other side, dissapointed me by decide to help and help Reiner and Bertholdt to escape. Then, the monkey beast titan finally revealed its human form. Kono, Dio da! (if my ears not deceived me.)

Alright. Idk what happen at 3 season. But this one had its good moment, while the other time its back to an ass, especially this final ended. If not because "Shinzou Sasageyo", i give this below the first season. 7 for this too.

insaneee ending episode. so so well done. hannes' death o7 there were also a bit of romance parts here too lol. mikasa reassuring and thanking eren, ymir saying goodbye and sorry to historia. whew what a ride. and eren too, i kneww that he had to have some kind of special power. like how reiner's titan has thick stone like armour around its body, berthold's being insanely huge and can produce hot gas around it, annie..... being able to do that mating suicide call or whatever. and now eren has "coordination" ? from what reiner said.

ymir's choice was really, really unexpected but i understand it. she really is something else on the inside

erwin smiling at the end there was creepy as shit but he was probably happy that we're closer to discovering the truth. that all these years of suffering and the deaths that were sacrificed could be all worth it. GG wit studio

Incredible masterful writing/story from Hajime Isayama, complimented by a awesome adaption (10/10)
that is extremely faithful to the manga, page-to-page, dialogue-for-dialogue with the only changes being flashbacks implemented earlier, along with more depth to the brief process of events before and after to add to the manga.
A better adaption than S1 from not having almost any changes, unlike the first that had very few, including how Eren started his fight against the Female Titan.
... The only "change" was in the ending again where they shortened the scene of revealing that Titans are humans, cutout some dialogue and exchanged a background character to be the one who investigated about Connie's village, instead of it being Hange and Connie.

The stake of humanity's survival against the Titans, the military tactits, the technicality of their world, along with the high complexity of the characters;
including the villains/anti-hero's or misunderstood ones.
Even the background character or supporting character that die with each of their personality's and goals.

Overall, the whole secrecy and mystery of the titans versus humankind is amazing.
I've only read up to Chapter 96 since 2015, and don't clearly remember everything, but I'm enjoying reading and watching the anime together by following the order of events that are adapted.

Incredible cast/performances also. The art/animation continues to be of elite quality.
Eren's drive is epic. Ultimately the pain of everyone is very enjoyable to experience. I'm eager to see what the rest and the ending is and how Eren and Mikasa end up.
I'm very curious what Hajime's original bad ending was as well. I'll look into that after I'm finally finished this superb story.

Just as I was done with the first season, the second one came naturally as an immediate continuation and, gotta say, it held up the bar impressively.

There were tons of revelations all throughout it mainly having to do with how Titans are seen and their possible motives. While yes, the whole picture is certainly still a mystery, we basically now know that there are multiple people who can transform into them and from Ymir's past I can only guess that there's a bigger organization pulling the strings behind it, the church being involved in it. I can only predict huge political conflicts as a result. Also, Eren has discovered yet another power which will be very important in the next one I believe.

Regarding the characters, I can't completely relate to Eren's behaviour being so impulsive, but I can't deny all the hardships coming from all those twists. Episode by episode it was harder than it seems to know who to root for and why. Nonetheless, each season his... aura? presence? comes off darker than in the previous one. It might go all the way even, who knows.

Lastly, the presentation, as per usual for this studio, was slick. I'm not gonna nitpick much on the 3D animation considering some of the very difficult shots they had to do. Nevertheless, my main gripe with it though was the portray of the Colossal Giant compared to the first season, which only looked kinda rough compraed to everything that was around it. The soundtrack this time felt more memorable as well. I'm still sticking to that second opening song from the first season, but this one I sang along as well.

I'm now not coming down this bandgawon, let's see how it continues on the next part.

I am blown away by this final episode of the second season of Attack OnTitan, this is easily the best anime ever yes i said it, this is better than Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, the emotions, the story, the writing, the characters, the action, the fight scenes, the politics, the diversity, well there were no black and brown characters here but we got lesbians, nonetheless i loved everything about this season. the fact that Eren can now control Titans is gonna be game changing, now it all makes sense as to why everyone wanted to kidnap Eren.

Also the fact that all Titans are humans is insane. and makes so much sense too. now all i need answers for is the big monkey beast titan, the guy on top of him which we saw at the end of the episode, and the titan inside the wall? and why there are Titans in the first place. maybe the people in inside the walls are just human farms or something like the promised neverland kids. i don't know

This was a lot better than the first season. Pacing picked up a lot without overlooking important details, and the characters got a lot more interesting. Even Eren is starting to become more than a "FK ALL TITANS I WILL KILL THEM ALL jk I can't lol". Started to recognize situations where he can't do anything in and decided to play it smarter. He still has almost no depth at all, but it's at least an improvement.

Historia, Ymir and Reiner are probably my favorites of this season. Mikasa and Armin still didn't really develop at all this season though, but they are a bit better than the first season at least. But it might be more that the focus relied a lot more on side characters for this season, and I think the show is a lot better off because of it.

I'd probably give it an 8. End of next season is the furthest I've been in the show and I barely remember any of it, but I hope it keeps the momentum that this season built. From what I remember, it did.
