Is it actually possible to run out of anime to watch?

This is something that I was worried could happen when I first started watching a lot of anime. I had a few shows that I really liked, and I had it in my head that I would eventually finish them and then run out of shows that I liked to watch. I even had a few shows that I knew I would like set aside in case a time came when this happened and I absolutely needed something to watch.

Obviously this never happened, and now my problem is very much the opposite. I started writing down all the shows I wanted to watch on a sheet of paper a couple years ago, and now it is at least 3 separate pages with more than 100 different shows on it, not counting sequels and other parts in a series. That's also not counting all the sequels and movies I want to watch for shows I've already seen. And of course now that I watch seasonal shows more, every season there are a handful of new shows that I want to watch as well. Back when I was watching a lot more I would watch 5 or 6 episodes a day, but now that I'm back in school I usually watch more like 1 or 2 episodes. At this rate, I will pretty much always have shows to watch for the foreseeable future. And even even if with some immense amount of determination I did complete all of the shows on that list without adding any more to it, there is still a just as vast amount of manga out there.

So yeah, do you think that you'll ever be able to finish your plan to watch list?
And is it even possible to stay caught up with everything you want to watch without getting burnt out?

Your thread title and the actual thread are actually two different and separate topics

the title of the thread and questions asked in your post are like 2 different conversations to be had but i'll try giving a shot at both

"Is it actually possible to run out of anime to watch?"
nah
, there's enough good shows coming out via new seasons that eventually something good will appear if you happen to somehow watch the entirety of anime, there's also enough hidden gems and obscure shows to a degree
as well as personal tastes, if a show is rated 6/10 it can still be my absolute favourite or something i happen to love even acknowledging the major flaws

this is a good question, because i gave up trying ages ago. but i have been trying for a while to not add anything no matter the circumstance on PTW as a discipline to see how far it'll get me, and if there is a show or manga that catches my eye i put it on a notepad to keep tabs or something like that. but that essentially just boils down to 2 plan to watches so maybe not a good idea

someone told me once not to worry about trying your hardest to complete your PTW or stressing over it, just think of each show as a potential good time to be had.
mmm yummy visuakl kei munch crunch munch chomp

- if you really run out of anime, it means that you've watched so much stuff that your taste will have radically changed compared to when you began; there are a lot of anime that will be even better on a rewatch (and many others worse, of course)
- sooner or later I'll finish my ptw, but there's no need to rush
- I drop anything boring as soon as possible, otherwise I'd have burnt out long ago

If you watched about 1000 anime per years, then there would be nothing left to watch very soon, but train your mind and will beforehand.
Help! I need somebody. Help! Not just anybody. Help! You know I need someone. Helpppppp!

Hmm yes probably if I was born in the 70s and had 5g internet, I probably would have seen all the anime..
but it's not possible now, one will lose the interest and motivation if they take on such task..
they won't be able to enjoy anime as they will watching too many at the same time..

I watch 10-30 anime a season depending on my free time and what came out so it's impossible for me to run out of things to watch.
My Watching and PTW is incredibly huge, most of it is for list building/tagging and I have no intention of ever watching all of them, but without programs like Taiga this would be impossible to maintain.
