Can anybody recommend me an series which MAY BE

1. SERIOUS
2. THRILLER
3. PUT ME IN DEPRESSION
4. WILL MAKE ME GIVE UP ON MY LIFE

hmm, it's not much of a thriller, but Shiguri is bleak and fits your first and third criteria nicely.

The “best” series I can really think of would be Psycho Pass.

But for #3 and #4 to be more accurate Neon Genesis is a good suggestion. Specifically End of Evangelion if you already haven’t seen it.

Goblin Slayer is dark at times but I'm not sure if it's "serious" exactly, at least not all the time. CotE is serious 95% of the time and it is very thrilling and exciting, albeit a bit slow at first, but I wouldn't say it's depressing much. Violet Evergarden has a few funny moments and it's a romance so I don't know if it would be one you're looking for, but it can get extremely tragic and depressing and make you want to cry. All three are anime I'd rate at least a 9/10 if not higher tho, so I'd definitely recommend trying them

MONSTER will be the perfect choice. Fits all the criteria as well as make you questions a lot of others things plus it’s the best thriller out there

your second line THREATENS my intrest to watch CLANNAD cause you said it will get destroyed which results in already making me feel I'm spoiled that it will have a HEART BREAKING ending

Psycho Pass season 1 is phenomenal and perfectly fits the bill. If you haven’t watched it yet, it’s time to remedy that.

watch attack on titan if you haven't watched it yet, it has everything you've demanded and it will give you some hope along with some depression and if have watched this masterpiece already then I would recommend to watch these following animes
1. Re:Zero
2. monster
3. prison school
4. Grand blue
5. nichijou
6. kokkuri san

Monster for sure. Kept me hooked every episode and is a very good adaptation.
Berserk 97 is also very good (not in terms of adaptation but overall an excellent anime).
Madoka magica, if you can stomach the first three eps.
Steins;gate, a real depressing one when it reaches the halfway point.
There's also Perfect Blue, it's more of a mindfuck movie but I think it's the best anime film out there.

Code Geass, School days, Yosuga no sora (this one kinda messed up but I thought it was pretty good, just don't watch it if you have a sister), for manga stuff like good night pun pun, my life is worth 300 yen (that's not the exact name but it should show up when you search it), Aki sora and uwakoi should do the trick.
School days, Yosuga no sora, Aki sora and uwakoi have soft core hentai scenes and/or incest as well as some graphic scenes but if your OK with that then you should watch/read them

+1 to Texnolyze. Also consider that show's little sister "Gunslinger Girl" and it's uglier (yet even more depressing) cousin "Gilgamesh". If anime movies qualify, Korea shines. Start with "The King of the Pigs" and just watch everything that director made. "The Fake" is also glorious.

I mean berserk is always a good choice if you want to read manga, the cyberpunk show also fits that list
