It was told by the quincy king that he is not the one who chooses the letter (which are the quincy's latent abilities) this is determined at birth, the Ishida has the same letter as the king which is A his latent ability is the Antithesis that reflects everything bad that happens to him for the enemy. it is quite likely that he used this skill unconsciously to defend himself from the king's event and it makes sense because the king says he has something that surpasses him and this skill is more stolen than the king's Almighty who predicts the future. however, there is a downside to this theory which is that every quincy has to go through a ceremony in order to use the letter ability. unless the ishida's letter "A" is so superior to the king's "letter "A" that he doesn't need to go through the ceremony in order to use the skill

The entire episode was awesome. Everyone depending on Ichigo to be their savior was the best part. Reciprocating that Ichigo worrying about everyone and desperately trying to break through that is also a highlight of the episode.

Byakuya got completely destroyed! I doubt he is actually dead but I don't think he will be making a comeback anytime soon.

Kenpachi was a badass defeating 3 Sternritters. Too bad he didn't stand a chance against the big boss.

Man how is Ichigo going to get out of this one...

As for what's going on in the Soul Society, it seems the tide of battle is even now. Kenpachi singlehandedly killed three Stern Ritters with ease, but was taken down by the leader with just as much if not more ease.

The Head Captain is now fighting on the front lines and has both intimidated and inspired his fellow captains and lieutenants to fight alongside him. Also we get to learn about the past of him and Chojuro Sasakibe and how Yamamoto got the name of Genryusai.

I wonder who we'll learn about in the next episodes...

The pace finally slowed from the previous four episodes. Kept me engaged with the hype and wanting more instead of feeling like I got hit by a truck with every new piece of information as it came and went.
