I don't think anyone has said the animation was bad, I think it's just a way to hate on the show even though its the crappy part of the fan base that turns people away from the anime/manga.

Idk where did you hear that but I've seen only positive reviews regarding season 6 animation and I also think that bones is phenomenally animating this season.

bruh have those people seen the latest episode? latest episode's animation was awesome, there was a pretty dope sakuga cut with the nomu and endeavor. and from the looks of the preview, it looks like the next episode may have some sakuga cuts as well.

Some things can only be achieved through animation.

true. i dont think i saw a post trashing mha's animation since ep 1 premiered. even twitter's surprisingly saying good things abt it, and they usually have the biggest amt of problems.

Wherever you're hearing that from is the minority, the general consensus is that this season has been great in terms of animation. While it's not on the level of something newer like Chainsaw Man and does rely on a decent amount of still frames, there's been an impressive amount of fluid sakuga as well. More importantly, the art & direction has been top notch which can go a long way. As long as that aspect remains consistent and the more important moments are given the animation they deserve, I can cut this show more slack than most since it can't be easy animating 25 whole episodes every year.

The CGI at the end was distracting for sure, and could have been better but the animation for everything else has been consistent so far.

I think what those people mean is that in one scene the animation could look great and in the next scene it's practically a slideshow, problem is it's not consistent

I’ve seen nothing but positive comments about it actually, I’ve only seen one episode cause I realized I can watch the 3rd movie now so I’m still waiting to do that, but the animation looked good so far. Season 5’s animation at first I didn’t like but it grew on me.

Good animation, but wasted on a storyline which doesn't focus on the important things at the right time. Story is really disappointing

my problem with it is not even bad animation, it's the amount of still frames they've been using, but it's honestly tolerable, i just hope they make the main fight look good

It depend some episode like Twice vs Hawks ep was badly animated with a ton of still frame, like nothing was moving the entire fight, ep 2 was good overall, while ep 4 was amazing from start to finish
This week ep (ep 5) it's a bit mixed it have some really good part and a lot of still frame too.
So I guess they "sacrificed" some episodes to be able to deliver the fights or the important parts, and I'm fine with it, especially with the time they have, like from the preview of next week ep it already look crazy.

well, I would say it has the least amazing animation out of every big battle shounen.

like it has pretty good animation, but it's still a step or 2 below everything else like: jjk, CSM, demon slayer and even fire force

I mean, hate to break it to you, but it does use cgi for the backgrounds from time to time.

they look good though, so I'm not saying that it having cgi is a bad thing.

cgi, specially for backgrounds can lead to some great looking shots that would be super expensive to do without it.

ok I think I get why you heard that. Everything with S6 was going great but where they took the wrong turn was at the point where Endeavor meets shigaraki. That was the point where bones should have fired off all cylinders but instead they decided to take it slow is where people got disappointed. It was supposed to be like deku vs shoto from S2 where animators filled the gap between fights which could be done only through fluid animation instead of using still images to match every pannel in manga.

I think MHA using still frames to pad the season to meet a particular number of episodes is holding them back from getting back to the season 2 or even season 1 level. Like all the seasons don't need to be 24 or 25 episodes to be good.
