'Sugar Apple Fairy Tale' Unveils Main Staff, Cast for 2023 Premiere

Production company Kadokawa opened an official website for the television anime adapting Miri Mikawa's Sugar Apple Fairy Tale light novel on Sunday, revealing the main staff, cast, a teaser promo, and teaser visual (pictured). The anime series will begin airing in 2023.

Kadokawa began publishing the adventure fantasy light novel under its Beans Bunko imprint in April 2010, featuring illustrations by Aki. The 17th and final volume shipped in February 2015.

Alto Yukimura (Colette wa Shinu Koto ni Shita) serialized a manga adaptation on the Hana to Yume Online website from November 2012 to October 2014. Kadokawa released the second and final volume in the same month.

What? It was clearly a Shoujo from the beginning...... -_-

Glad that the art style of the anime actually looks good, since it seems Shoujo/Josei adaptations tend to get the short end of the stick with this usually.

Yea, I mean at first glance I thought it may have been. I don’t think yuri is limited to boys so I don’t think a yuri anime can’t be Shoujo, but maybe I’m wrong about that. Anyway, I like some Shoujo Romance series so this may be one I might like.

While the trailer looks bit interesting. I wish they pick shoji manga for adaptation instead of shoji manga like light novel. They are definitely not the same feel

Lol, yuri is originally a sub-genre of shoujo, just like BL. To the point where the mainstream yuri magazines are published for a female audience. Yuri for guys is usually a minor genre after seinen in works tags. As for the show, many years ago I knew people who did a fan translation of it. It's a pretty interesting series.
