The obvious battle between the big bad Shuten and the rip-off Super Sentai to save both Kakeru and Oka out of their illusions.

It's so cheesy to put this "event" on live for all the people to see though, but the Shikizakura ritual served its purpose.

For a non-Tokyo based production , this isn't half bad, but it's quite average.

good enough entertaining show with another existentialism motto "life is meaningless until you give it meaning"

Yatogame-chan cameo. lmao...
Maybe, Shikizakura's casts will appear in Yatogame-chan fourth season as well.

This was better than it had any right to be. I still like the Power Rangers episode the best. It was interesting how they switched between 2d and 3d episodes. Too bad barely anyone else watched this.

Decent cliche happy ending, with just a little time they had everything still possible. Oka-Kakeru manage to return from the Shuten salvation by a little help from Oka's mother, and friendship power. Everyone working together again in the end to defeat Shuten, and as expected too Ibara was the one that close the gate to let Kakeru happy forever with his waifu, Oka. But, he also had someone waiting, mostly the shrine maiden from the past. So everything will just be a nice usual happy end. Little time skip scene still interesting to write here. I can't help but laugh with Ryo way of career. Big guy still using such a sweet path even after he retired. Kaede and Hakuro unexpectedly separated their lives with their own dreams. Sad, i thought there's something big for them on these time skip. Maybe just let it off-screen. Because no matter what, this is the story of Kakeru. So everything will be back to him, as the show finally rolled out saying the farewell.

See you again when Shikizakura bloom....

Final episode! We got the typical happy ending with the power ranger knockoffs destoying the Oni xD.

Was a very ok show with no outstanding things about it but it wasn't all that bad I guess.

If you're wondering, just like me, who were the 9 idols before Yatogame-chan's cameo... I did some "digging" on Twitter, and they were Boys and Men, a irl idol group!
(Also, I could just have checked the band's name in-anime x))))

Also, initially I didn't get why we got these cameos. But I forgot that Shikizakura was advertised as anime made in Nagoya, where the plot takes place. And both 'Yatogame-chan' and 'Boys and Men' are also from Nagoya, so I believe it's safe to assume that's the case~

Pretty solid series that resurrect the almost dead soap-opera mixed with action style of the sentai.

I loved every bit of it, from the cheesy plain fun episodes in 2D animation, to the 3DCG action scenes and corny (but in a good way) story that bind together the past and present. Shows like these tend to give too much flare to the main protagonist, and I'm just grateful that almost everyone in the cast had a little time under the spotlight to shine in the last minutes of the big confrontation against Shuten (probably Benio & Inuzuma were the only ones cut short).

Shame that this show didn't gather that many viewers like SSSS.Gridman did, I certainly had just as much fun watching Shikizakura as I did with Gridman.

Honestly, I wasn't sold on it when I watched the first episode premiere at Anime Expo. Still, I continued and hoped for the best. This turned out to be better than I was expecting. I'm happy to see an anime come out of this region of Japan. The anime threw in some interesting concepts here and there. While it wasn't a plot full of groundbreaking ideas, I thought they did well to take something and add their own flair to it. I was impressed with some of the character bonding that occurred. Some things were meh, but overall this anime was pretty solid. It actually reminded me of Wakfu a little.

Great anime.
But what did Oka wanted to ask to kakeru ?

Edit : Seems like the blu ray will bring additional footage for the last episode, so I guess we will know about her question.

Currently at 160$ the blu ray box on amazon.jp, this is kinda cheap compared to the usual price we see in Japan. Will buy it, definitely worth :D

The entire episodes are mostly boring or average, only Kakeru's ideals of being a hero kept me going throughout this series,
and the hope and possibility of the main two characters getting together but it was shallow, I hoped for more.
Even their friendship was lacking in style or decrepit. (except our duo, Kakeru and Ibara.)
The only characters I am fond of were Ibara, Kakeru, Kippei, Ryou, and Ooka.

One more thing that kept me going was the OP's lyrics and the ED's subtlety.
The story feels unnatural... movements were sluggish.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
