Are there any anime you want to watch but can't get into because they're just way too long?

Detective COnan and One Piece seem very interesting, but i mean, they're almost a thousand episodes.

Series that you are interested in and want to watch but are just too long that it puts you off from watching
My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

Not that I want to, but I'd try One Piece if it had 10x fewer episodes.
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Perhaps, this is hell.

For a One Piece fan no series is too long, but I still prepare myself before I commit to anything more than a 100 episodes long.

Any shonen that has over 50 episodes but isn't cut into seasons for me honestly. Detective Conan, black clover, one piece, blabla all that stuff. I don't know why, but it feels more scary for me if it's not cut into seasons even though they are the same thing. How weird.

I used to be like that, then I decided to actually watch long ass shounen shows, first Gintama, then Bleach, currently watching Naruto and One Piece.

There are ways to approach Detective Conan without having to watch every single episode.

Just start watching it, time flies by so fast when you enjoy it. I'm on my third rewatch of One Piece and wished there were more episodes.

I'd say One Piece, except I don't want to watch One Piece, lol.

Maybe Kodocha. It seems like a cute and fun series, but it seems like it went on for twice as long as it needed to, especially since I heard the second half is considerably worse than the first.

Monster also seems like a series that went on longer than it needed to, although it seems more justified in comparison to Kodocha, since the source manga was pretty lengthy compared to the latter's own.

I still plan on watching both series at some point, but it'll be a long awhile before I start them.

Most of them I'll get into eventually but

Most battle shonen (Bleach, One Piece, rest of Naruto, Gintama, etc.)
Urusei Yatsura
Hajime no Ippo
Detective Conan

just to name a few.

I've accepted that Detective Conan is impregnable. I've faced some heavy hitters before (obligatory One Piece reference) but Conan will break me down with sheer repetitive attrition. And I say this as someone who loves Super Sentai, which is 70% episodic for a majority of their 50+ episode runs - but as far as I know, what I've heard from fans - while there are some arcs and some interesting mysteries, it's still extremely formuliac and I just can't tackle it.

Legend of Galact Heroes. I doubt that I'll have patience for watch 110 episodes with only dialogues, but I'm not sure.

The whole Monogatari Series.

Also, anime that have both 24 episodes and a on-hold /dropped "try again one day" status:

Steins;Gate
Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyou
Nana (47 ep)

Used to say OP & Detective Conan.

For me, it would be ReZero considering my favorite characters.

As for One Piece, i recommend to read the Manga.
Especially when you enter Fishman Island.

Detective Conan???
Find a proper filler list as possible.
You dont want to end up like me who finished/catched up 750+ eps in a 2 months span.

Hamtaro. Maybe if I had seen it mid-2000s but 300 episodes is way too long, especially for a kids series.

Anything more than 12 episodes is already long. Forget about shows like Gintama and One Piece (not like I want to watch them either).
I want to finish HxH though.

some aren't even that long. unless the stuff is really good somehow I find it difficult to watch two episodes in a row. that's why I switched to ongoing shows for the most part -- if the show isn't like super bad I can manage one episode a week at least. getting into something as big as one piss that only becomes good after episode 300 (or whatever is the actual number) is impossible at this point

monogatari might not even be worth getting into. it becomes 90% weird dialogs later on, easily dropable anyway

for some people steins gate has this like 9ep barrier you have to overcome before it gets good. for me it was just a switch from one type of good to another so idk, good luck I guess

Yeah, there are a lot of titles like that -

Galaxy Express 999
Blood+
Nana
Ashita no Joe
LotGH
Maison Ikkoku
Rurouni Kenshin
Touch
Hajime no Ippo
Yu Yu Hakusho
Space Brothers

I hope I can power through most of them once I get a good amount of spare time on my hands.

Well, I don't have any problem wiht watching a series if it's like 50-100 eps but I'm hesitant to watch Bleach and Naruto Shippuden even though I'm a shounen fan.
I will watch them when I will get enough time. Maybe next year but I don't have any plans for watching One Piece because the character designs look ugly and it never looks interesting to me.

It would have to be Bleach. Made it through 20 something episodes before it bore me to death and I'm not in the mood to watch 100 episodes until it gets to the interesting parts.

If you don't want to watch all of one piece.

Another anime with almost as many episodes is crayon-shin I believe but it's one I'm somewhat interested in watching some of but at the same time it looks a little ridiculous, so I'm unsure if it's worth invested my time in.

One Piece I already watched all of but I too want to watch Detective Conan Case Closed and I have been gradually making my way through it with 20 or 30 episodes watched so far. Eventually I'll try to binge more, hopefully starting this summer.

@TheBlockernator yo bud.

Don't be afraid of starting One Piece, it's rather simple why.
One Piece has recap, they last up to 5 minutes sometimes + ed and op.

That's around 8 minutes of content you can ingore each ep's.

making the ep's rather short, and making one piece the easiest out of the long running shounen to finish of.

Its just a tips, if you actually want to try it out. You can even find the old ep's in 720p on Nyaa. Japan rereleased the old eps in higher quality, not even funimation or cruncy has them, as they dont care.

I wouldn't mind giving OP a shot ... if it had fewer episodes. I just simply refuse to watch stuff that is way to God damn long.

I want to watch Fruits Basket at some point but it has 3 seasons and over 60 episodes total..

I know that's not a ton compared to actual long-running anime, but that's still a big commitment for me
