I initially thought that when Spy x Family started airing that it would 100% be voted anime of the year...until I forgot that Chainsaw man is also coming out this year. I haven't read the chainsaw man manga so I don't know much about it but I've heard it be hyped up to the moon and back

Last year there wasn't really anything "anime of the year" worthy (imo), this year there's probably going to be multiple series worthy of that title. Great to see studios bouncing back after the pandemic.

Because SPY X FAMILY is very famous right now so this thread will reach larger anime audience and provide a bigger perspective.***

Dude Dr stone s3 not gonna release this year, that's planned for 2023. An ova containing a certain character will air in july maybe.

Honestly, I want it to be Blue lock or Mob Psycho. If Blue Lock gets a very good adaptation I believe it could possibly be one of, if not the best, sports anime to come out in recent years. Mob Psycho kinda speaks for itself.

In reality, I'd guess that CSM would get the highest rating on MAL once the year ends due to popularity, shonentards and bots, unless MAPPA Fuck it up somehow. Still looking forward to the show.

I'd put Bleach, Summertime Render or Yofukashi no Uta as my Dark Horse

Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs is Quite underrated. It genuine feels like something from the era when there was no internet and You did stay up late till 11 pm in a monsoon day just to watch the new episode. It's rather Unique from all shonen animes this season.

Its a win for either Kaguya-Sama S3 or Made in Abyss S2. I will have to wait until the end of Summer 2022 to decide.

Also, why tf is Mushoku Tensei S2 there? I don't remember it being announced for 2022.

Aoty awards and all are about popularity and I don't think anything is going to surpass Csm in that regard

Subjectively, nothing will surpass SNK4p2 for me.

The only advantage SpyxFamily has over CSM is that the first one will have 25 episodes this year, and I think the second cour of SxF will be even better than the first one because it will cover the first major arc of the manga.

I think it will be CSM in my opinion
By the few images we can see from the trailers it looks really good and if it adapted the story perfectly it will be a banger
There's is also a lot of good animes tho like SPY, Summertime Render that are already top tier and can match CSM
For now we can just think but definitely gonna be a hard choice for this year with how much incredible anime are coming

kaguya-sama season 3 and thats coming from a manga reader so I know what I'm talking about. Some of the most peak manga chapters ever written are going to be animated soon

At the moment it's Akebi-chan but I have no idea what will get the title in the end. It's very unlikely that it'd be anything on the poll though, especially since I don't give that title to sequels. Although even including them MaouGakuin would be the only contender from the poll. Also Mushoku Tensei s2 aired in 2021.

If Mappa goes all out, CSM will surely become an instant classic for sure. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a new anime that much before. I really hope we'll finally get a new trailer soon atleast.

last year had amazing animes like aot s4 p1, odd taxi and jobless reincarnation etc which were worthy of anime of the year you probably didn't watched them

Saw all of them. Odd taxi was my favorite, liked aot too but dropped jobless reincarnation, just not my thing.

I think it will be between CSM, Aot S4P2 and Bleach's TYBW arc.

But for me, I expect Aot S4P2 to be crowned as aoty.
