I am planning on watching this.
Can you tell me how to watch this?
Are there fillers in this ?
If there are
Are they worth watching?
And are movies related to series?
And should i watch this in release order ?
And thanks in advance.
Anyone who will help me

first if all, watch release order.
the first movie is a remake of the benizakura arc higher quality.
second movie you should watch after gintama':enchosen.
the fillers are amazing. the best in anime very funny and recommending to watch.

Start from episdoe 3 , then watch every episode. First 50 are less funny and enjoyable as the latter episodes. There are fillers, all of them are worth watching as they are super duper funny. There are arcs but they are very short most of the time. About 2-3 episode on average. Enjoy the ride! (Season 6 sucks by the way you don’t have to suffer through it and can skip it.)

Ah and forgot, first movie is unnecessary, it covers the first serious arc. Second movie watch after the third season. After gintama silver soul part 2 watch gintama the semi finale (you can skip it if you want it is covered in the first 5 minutes of the finale) and then after everything watch gintama the finale , the third and last movie.

There are very few fillers. In the first season there are like 15 episodes total. For filler standards they are decent and NOT eyeburning, but still won't lose anything if you skip them.

skipping fillers is acrime in this anime
they are non cannon but hilarious

it is the anime with the comedy at the same time sometimes it surpasses many other anime at seriousness

About chronological and release order or not, I highly recommend the order in this one -> Gintama watch order. Please check it out and read the order because it emphasise about season 6 (important facts!). It's the only season that you cannot watch in release order. Wait let me rephrase. I suggest you: If you don't want to interrupt the serious rhythm, don't watch in release order and read further explanation in the link given. If you need a break between the seriousness, then do watch in release order (but still read that order so you can understand why at least)

Gintama doesn't have much fillers. Their fillers are just like any other Gintama comedic episodes (or not) so fillers or not you can't even tell them apart. If you enjoy the sitcom, you will enjoy fillers so yes it's worth it.

Movie 1 related to the series. Further explanation is in the watch order link above I put. Movie 2 is a very good filler (I didn't know it's a filler until recently since it's too good). Definitely do NOT miss movie 2!

- NOT your usual shounen anime
- Pure comedy? DEAD WRONG
- Treat Gintama as SoL/weekly sitcom especially earlier seasons
- Ep 1 & 2 are for manga readers
- BIG patience for its 'slow' start

If you still haven't started watching then I'd recommend this watch order below; it's the most comprehensive one I've found and includes all OVAs and movies. Leaving it here if anyone else wants to check it out too.
The adverts can be found easily on Youtube btw.

TadanoMari's order list was really helpful and i decided to make a more simple one (for more depth read his order), but there are some minor differences

Gintama
Gintama's Jump Festa 2005 special (before episode 125)
Continue Gintama
Gintama Jump Festa 2008 (before episode 176)
Continue Gintama
Complete Gintama
Gintama Harumatsuri 2010
Gintama Movie 1: Shinyaku Benizakura-hen
Gintama: Shinyaku Benizakura-hen Special (preview of the next serious arc, avoid if you don't want to get spoiled)
Gintama'
Gintama': Enchousen
Gintama Movie 2: Kanketsu-hen - Be Forever Yorozuya
Gintama Jump Festa 2014
Gintama°
Gintama°: Aizome Kaori-hen (before Gintama° episode 31)
Continue Gintama°
Gintama.: Porori-hen (before Gintama° episode 35)
Gintama Jump Festa 2015 (before Gintama° episode 35) (preview of the next serious arc, avoid if you don't want to get spoiled)
Continue Gintama°
Complete Gintama°
Gintama.
Gintama.: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen
Gintama.: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen - Kouhan Sen
Gintama: The Semi-Final
Gintama: The Final

P.S. I would avoid watching Gintama: Yorinuki Gintama-san on Theater 2D, because it is 2 episodes recap, the first episode of shinsegumi crisis arc and the second episode of four devas arc
Also Gintama x Mameshiba, Nissin Cup Noodles China x Gintama, China KFC x Gintama, Gintama x Monster Strike are advertisments/collabs and hard to find.
