Okay, I am really missing the point in showing her again.
So... she's married. And? It's been many years. They've met and nothing happened, can't even call it closure.

Even just to torture him further, he's been a shell of a human being for a long time, I think his father's death was enough to destroy him completely. I dunno, author really didn't know what to do with her and her entire subplot went nowhere. I see her only as a plot device to make conflict between Seiichi and his mom worse, when it was done, author didn't need her anymore. I can appreciate realism behind that (because that's how life works: not every relationship lead to something good) but from story's perspective it was pretty lame. I would have preferred if they got back together or at least she pushed him to get himself together. But hey that's just my opinion.

I said from the beginning that the idea of showing her again would be a problem for the story, for the following reasons: How would the author respond to the fact that she didn't even look for him after he got out of detention, or at least, looked for his father to get information about him?
How would he handle this meeting of the 2 without the status quo of his life remaining the same? Because if that was the point, it wouldn't make any logical sense to show her again.

I predicted this would happen, assuming she would have a family, and well, I was right. And she really didnt serve any purpose in the story, as you said, just to make his conflict with Seiko worse, a role that another character like his father, could have fulfilled better and been more useful to the narrative than she was. I would rather prefer that he would just see her from afar, or something.

Continuing crushing a character who is already finished and decided to take his own life may sound realistic, but to me, in addition to looking bad narratively, it does a disservice to those who actually deal with these types of problems. Man, i don't like the direction the story has taken so far...

What is that saying, "no one kicks a dead dog"? Dog is dead, leave it alone, he's already pushed beyond the limit. He either kills himself (which will be INCREDIBLY lame) or kills Seiko (and then himself, I don't see him going to prison). Which is not much better considering she lived long happy live without any consequences for her actions. Damn. The story got a bit worse after time-skip...

Damn this author really hates this MC. The man cannot catch a single break whatsoever. Seems like this is heading towards an ultra bleak ending where he is driven to suicide.

I agree with has been said before. As realistic and dramatic for the mc it might look, showing an interaction with Fukiishi with it just ending like that adds nothing tho the plot. It even does not fit as confrontantion with her, since nothing was wrong between them. Other than their past messed up relationship this is.
I can't predict any other possibility than the ones writen before. Just please don't make him kill himself as an ending.

At this point I'm kinda confused as to where the story is gonna end up .The latest arc felt really underwhelming compared to the previous ones

I really hope we're not heading for suicide at this point because that would be a terrible ending.

Well let's list all of the possible outcomes:

1) Seiichi kills himself
2) Seiichi kills his mother and then himself
3) Seiichi kills his mom and goes to jail
4) Seiichi gets killed by his mom (wtf)
5) Seiichi, through some event, lets go off this situation and tries to live again, maybe he will come to terms with everything that happened to him.

I honestly hope for ending # 5. I think a lot of people hope for some sorta positive outcome. Ending # 4.. I wouldn't expect that, it will be dark but enjoyable... in a bad way. Like a trainwreck. Ending # 1 looks extremely lazy and predictable... maybe # 2 is the most likely scenario? Mother and son die together. Because I think Seiko still has to appear at some point.

It'd be nice for the MC to have a positive outcome somehow, but essentially all of the characters have been written out at this point except for his mother, and I can't think of any way that an interaction with her would end positively. The only other possibility is that the author plans to go into an extensive new arc before the ending where new characters are introduced.

man, I was hoping we would get substantially more with Fukiishi, at least something with a conversation that addresses the past and them losing touch. Kinda sad if that's all it was and I'm really hoping this is not some bleak nihilist ending with Seichii just killing himself.

I really thought when Fukishii mentioned Osabe's name, they were gonna talk about things and I thought Fukishii was a widow and saw the possible outcome of they getting back together again. But that was so underwhelming...

worst chapter of whole manga; the things that happened take 1 minute of real time

Oshimi baited us all. Fukiishi didn't remember him at first and when she did, it was already too late in a sense. Loving how tragic and depressing this is getting >_<

In sorrow and regret and nostalgia, there is a strange kind of beauty. This is something the author of this manga intimately understands.

Reading chapters only hurts at this point
Literally fail to see the point of a lot of shits.
Just let everyone go on with their life godammit.
Each CHP just feels like an act of sadism towards the readers by the author
Life sucks

Seichi showed maturity here and closed that door without further complexities.it looks like he has set himself free now to do whatever he wanted. And it looks like he no longer wants to live.

This can't happen because author's MCs are often his self-inserts, he's a successful mangaka, also, he's never given us such a bleak ending, we're apparently mid way through the story, or even at the start (up until now was apparently the prologue),

It's really no coincidence, the MC's fathers in his manga are always weak and ineffectual, the mothers, overbearing bordering on outright abusive, his works are definitely semi-autobiographical.

Seiki from Aku No Hana and Seiko from this manga, have very similar names, have a similar overall appearance, both are obsessive and play a role that leaves his MCs mentally damaged.

To be honest, I kind of "appreciated" that we got to see Fukiishi again. Not so that Seiichi could feel anguished, but, well, it expanded upon Fukiishi's character a bit. She probably went through a lot of pain back when all this happened, because despite knowing a side to Seiichi that was stolen by his mother, there's not a lot you can do as a 14-year-old. She tried harder than anyone in the story to protect him, but there wasn't much she could do anymore. The faces she made upon realizing who it was made it really obvious just how traumatic it was for her. Like, she wasn't afraid or bothered by his presence, but instead, she was holding back an incredible sorrow.

Shit, man, Seiichi crossing that despair event horizon - and no longer being able to be with the only person in the world who understood him - really broke me.

There are no loose ends. Seiichi is determined to end his life. I hope he won't do it.

Those words he thought about and that face at the end of this chapter... it resembled his mother during her "crazy" nihilistic moments.
