I was wondering what japanese people used to watch anime, i doubt it's crunchyrolll or funimqtion, and forsure not pirated websites so what do they use? TV doesn't count cus i m referring to more like shows that have already aired

My guess is besides movies and airing anime the japanese don't watch massively already completed shows. Just a bunch of otakus buying the BDs and TV stations randomly re-airing stuff.

Pretty sure they have access to streaming services like Prime and Netflix.
So if anything they have access to old shows through those.
New shows through anime channels and TV.

Yep, Prime even has some earlier episodes of Sazae-san of all things. The only thing different between the rest of the world and Japan is Japan has AT-X and thus can get uncensored episodes of some anime.

Plenty of distribution services are available like DMM, Abema, dAnime etc. Plus YouTube channels for specific series or brands (e.g. Bandai, BNPictures).

If they were clever they recorded the show airing. Or they got the episode from somewhere.

Imagine paying for something you already got for free lol.

Tv's are a thing. When I was in Japan, I used always just watch them live or record them since they were always on

Netflix, Amazon Prime, and streaming services like Tate Anime (IDK what the new name is.) Also, some shows like Warau Salesman and the ComicFesta josei smuts are uploaded on YouTube. If their desired show isn't available on streaming platforms, though, they'll probably just buy the Blu-Ray.
