Does IMDb rating matters that much to you guys

I know I am just adding to it but why do you guys care about the ratings on IMDb so much, if the episode is not good the hardcore fanboys will rate it 10 and if the episode is great the haters will give it a 1 and after knowing all this why do you guys care about the ratings on IMDb or any other platform.Everybody knows how good/great of a series AOT is so it doesn't matter what rating a bad/good/great episode has when we know fans gonna love haters gonna hate.
I have noticed this mostly by the AOT fandom/fans

I really like imdb for its feature of episode ratings.

Retarded behavior of downvoting by anime fans suck and i just ignore it.

Episode ratings help me decide whether i should watch an episode of a show i am currently watching when i am bored and looking for something to cheer me up since low rated episodes might bore me even more and highly rated ones will have a lot going on.

It also helps me tell if a new show has a slow start and how long it takes to get good and how consistently good a show is.

Never heard anyone talk about IMDB ratings for anime. As far as I know, 99.9% of people don't give a shit either. People talking about IMDB ratings must be pretty new to anime.

Well aot is massive on imdb unlike most anime so its fun to see how it compares to the biggest series in the world so this is the reason why i care about aot ratings on imdb for other anime series i really don’t care that much

Honestly I don't care but this episode was a 10/10 masterpiece. I had to rate it. It will probably go down cause one piece and fmab fans are already bombing it with 1s already.

Most don't care about the ratings, and I would say that it's not just typical of this fandom, but because it's a popular and current series this phenomenon occurs more often than in other places.

While their reasons: I guess it's because they want to watch their favorite series on the top and spread it to the casual public or they just want to impose their taste on others. Something similar to when someone criticizes the series or one of its aspects, and others want to make him change his mind.

Rating wars have indeed gone out of hand recently, and throwing 1s or 10s randomly without even watching the episode is pretty dumb.

However for people to care about rating is not completely absurd even if it is a subjective matter. At the end of the day, when AOT episodes manage to rival episodes of other great series such as Breaking Bad, Game of thrones and others on IMDb, it is bound to have its name spread among TV shows enthusiasts. That helps boost AOT and anime in general, which is well deserved especially considering the endless prejudices that are still made against the medium.

Of course this in no way should be interpreted as AOT or other high rated shows being better than all other animes , since enjoyment is subjective, but it means these shows have managed to positively target a wide audience and that is definitely a feat.
