This episode is so good. And I love the animation produced by LidenFilms for a low budget animation. If you all complain about the animation, Studio Deen will produced the s2 with the same staff in 7ds(Studio Deen).

A pretty good episode in general, I'd say! Act 1 of the fight was chaotic as expected, Takemitchy getting Chifuyu's support to keep him grounded and then motivating the rest of Toman was pretty good.
the voice acting and pacing were great.

THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Damn, the feud between Valhalla and Toman really reaches its peak during this Halloween day battle.

It's crazy how much this escalated to get Baji. Draken and Kazutora got major balls to represent their group. And tbh, this arc may be the most intense one in the show so far. Draken really has proved himself as a loyal friend while Kazutora shows he isn't afraid of anything or anyone.

How do you know the exact timing to make an anime episode discussion bro ...do you know the timings of each anime ?
You don't just simply tag OP, because he's not gonna give you the answer, nor will I do because I also know how. The basic answer is: Go live in Japan.

Deem bro. What was that about Takemichi, it surprises me that after that he gave everyone a battle voice, really gorgeous. What I liked most was the phase from the middle of the episode to the end when Mikey was fighting with Kazutora and his other two subordinates, too cool. I can't wait for the next episode with the end of the fight.

Did you guys feel like the animation wasn't at the same level as the other episodes? I know how difficult is it to deal with deadlines and production committees though, so I hope the animators are feeling ok and are not overwhelmed by work 🙏.

WHAT THE FUCK HAHAHAHA I thought that this anime was terrible but this is crossing the line of intellectual offenses. How the fuck someone would survive being attacked like that? Is Mikey a fucking super hero now? Did we all see that he got like 20 straight blows to the head? Im not even going to talk about the slideshow, this was the most pathetic excuse of badassery that I have seen in a long time

The animation of this anime is always mediocre. It just shows here because fights are more taxing to animate since they require more motion of the body and the camera, but if you see that an anime use the same shots all the time and the same panning effect then the animation is not that good to start with. You dont need Ufotable, Mappa, Shaft or Kyoani levels of animation to have a good product, but this is not a good product

No matter how you long, they are dragging this episode longer.

This is annoying.

My fav eps so far, but hey next eps will be more fire, yeah i felt that the animation is kinda lazy this eps but that last kick from Mikey really met my expectations as the manga reader.

Well at least we can give applause to Takemichi, his spirit really raised Toman's morale at this point.

I agree with one of the person above that said this is not carried by animation

Whew, I guess I had a bit of a higher expectation for this episode. The animation was rough, the angles were uninspiring and while I know why, half of the episode was a dust storm lol It got the job done and they covered a number of chapters so still looking forward to next week.

I liked this for the most part, really fun gangfight.

The leaders are all a bit overpowered which is fun but also not.
I think what most of them lack is honor, while the underlings do proper fist fights. There is none when the leaders play underhanded.

Takemichi battle cry lol

Who actually needs Hanma? He is just there to buy time.

Kazutora is such a coward, running away instead of fighting.
lol and with a steel pipe when the opponent can't move, does he want to go to jail again already? Otherwise, he seems to be super weak.
Mikey quickly recovered from probably weak hits and gave everyone what they deserved. Quite understandable that he killed Kazutora in a different timeline.
Can Takemichi stop him? probably should just call the police to stop everything.

What is all the hype about? Animation and artstyle are average at best. Besides the opening, no ost really stands out. The time travel element is so poorly written that it makes no sense. All the characters are teenagers which are built and act like they are pro fighters with 20 years of experience.

The main cast is especially unrealistic, to the point it reminds me of Bollywood movies. Takemitchi doesn't do a thing to prepare for coming back to the past. He doesn't learn any fighting techniques or really think things through. He literally shows up at the fight and still doesn't even have a general plan of action.

He may be inexperienced, but Naoto shouldn't be. He should have helped him prepare in some way besides getting info and wishing him good luck. It's his sister's life on the line in the end - you'd think he'd do all in his power to make a good plan...

Literally the only thing that stands out in this show is the amount of action happening. The plot may turn out interesting, but so far it's buried so far beneath the action that I honestly have zero attachment to it. Also, I haven't really gotten attached to any characters besides Mikey and Draken so far. I don't really care for them either, but they carry the action so the show would feel even more empty without them. I couldn't care less if anyone besides them dies the next episode. Hina included.

Besides the action can someone explain why more than half of the people rated this episode 5/5? And to be clear, I don't mind people watching and praising it for the action - it's the reason why I'm watching it in the first place. I'm just curious what other elements they find appealing in this show?

eeh , takemitch did ? He was getting batted around , until he shouted and then just started decking the enemies right across the field .
And please dont come up with something like "Oh well that was just him getting his shit together . he screamed because he felt motivated again and thats why he stood his ground blah blah blah" . It doesnt excuse the fact that it is literally a convinient trope and asspull that has been around for too long , and is just tiring to see. Its a very uninspired plot device .

Takemichi annoyed me way too much this episode. He knows what Mikey is going to go crazy and kill Kazutora, which will act as the trigger for him to go to the dark side, yet he does nothing to create even a small change in that result. And he doesn't go and subtly protect Baji either. His goal is to CHANGE the events that happen, not fight in this stupid battle.
Literally what is the point of coming back, if you're not actively trying to change the events? He is 26, but has the cognitive deduction of a middle schooler still. He knows the triggers, and yet actively doesn't do anything to stop them.

Exactly, you’d think this man was sheltered his whole life or some shit. He’s not a convincing 26 year old mentally and heck even physically lmao. I just know this will be one of those animes I’ll look back in a few years and question why I even continued watching.

He's pretty much sheltered his whole life tho. What do you think he was doing as a 26 years old? Did you watch the anime? He was just rotting in his apartment saying sorry to everyone and just running away from everything because of the trauma of abuse during middle school. Even tho he's getting better by going back into time. He's still experiencing fucked up shit each time he finally made progress. Like how his gf and best friend died right in his eyes. Those are really traumatizing events that you wouldn't understand. Anyone who experiences traumatizing events could be reduced to a child in tears.

That's an immense amount of headcanon in a single post, I'm wondering if you're even paying attention to what you're watching. Toman is not a criminal organization. They all go to school, they don't steal bikes, steal or extort money of anyone. Mikey is a troubled kid himself, he got influenced by his dead older brother who was in a biker gang too, and they didn't harm anyone not involved in delinquency. He wants them to go back to the way things were in his brother's time and honor him.

The animation and bad character models make me cry. I'm in love with the characters but it's hard to be invested in the drama and action when it's so poorly executed. I want to cheer, cry, laugh, and be gripped by what's going on, especially because the manga is praised for its storytelling, and suspense. But I feel muted emotions while watching the anime because things are so wonky and stiff in the visuals and pacing.

Thats actually might be Maikis headcanon because he is insane.
The core of their activity is RIDING BIKES WITHOUT LICENSE AND REGISTRATION which is a crime and GETTING INTO FIGHTS with other gangs which is also a crime especially that both activities are intentional and repeated both of those can be considered as atempted murder. How do you think they pay for their bikes, fuel, parts etc? You think they fund it out from their allowance?
Also saying that they ALL go to school is pure bullshit because we know for a fact that many of them don't. Yeah for sure they all go to school and after school they all go to work to support their biker gang activities lol. Too bad most of them are too young to legally work either so even if they work they are doing it illegally.

i literally said that is an overused cliche and has been used a plot device for way too long in way too many animes . Thus why i called it uninspired . All these arguements you lads are giving ? all this "raising morale" and "wanting to save lives " and all ? They might be true . But again that doesnt change the fact that it is an overused cliche and trope , and is just a sign of cheap writing . Emotional powerups are not a good way to strengthen your character .

he's already had a good punch in him, as shown in episode 1 when he punched the guy who harassed Naoto.

First off, takemitchy punched that dude unawares .
secondly , that dude is a stick compared to the fighters of valhalla he is facing right now . And he is facing them head on .Lets also not forget that they are much bigger and older than him.
Yet he still decked 2 of the fighters with single punches each .
Shinuki_n_Reborn said:

7:30 to 7:48 he punched 2 guys and they went flying .
8:04 he is totally surrounded , with chifuyu busy fighting behind him . Yet he still managed to get out of that .
I will say this . he was shown to have good endurance , so that gives him a slight egde on standing longer . But its still pretty convenient on how he wriggles through it all and also took 2 of them out .

Bro, wait until you learn about morale in wars. You'd probably think morale is some stupid convenient powerup trope lul. Fact is morale makes a difference. A huge difference.

I do know about morale , and i do know that they sometimes help to cover up fear and give fighters the adrenaline rush they need . But raise in morale can only do so much . It is more of a rejuvenation than a power up . a boy that isnt physically capable of breaking a rock wont be able to break one , even if he had a higher morale than anyone else .

And yes , if the story is utilising out of nowhere strength for plot convenience , Then that is a "stupid convenient powerup trope" and is a sign of cheap writing.

kkkkk You're just making up your own version of what happened, you literally just explained in the sarcastic part, he got his shit together, a bit fired up and punched some dudes in the face, what happened next? he got beat up and that's it, Takemichi didn't actually defeated anyone, you're trying to make it sounds like he screamed "TOMAAAAN!!!!" and defeated half of Valhala by the power of screaming, this isn't giving a excuse, just rationally explaining what happened, which isn't that hard to understand at all.

he's already had a good punch in him, as shown in episode 1 when he punched the guy who harassed Naoto. He's just terrified of the situation cause he's faced with hundreds of people braeling its total chaos so he's afraid to fight but that doesn't mean he can't. Also he didn't scream to get this courage. He got it from his buddy chifuyu and remembering the lives he has to save.

i literally said that is an overused cliche and has been used a plot device for way too long in way too many animes .

First off, takemitchy punched that dude unawares .
secondly , that dude is a stick compared to the fighters of valhalla he is facing right now . And he is facing them head on .Lets also not forget that they are much bigger and older than him.
Yet he still decked 2 of the fighters with single punches each .

Obviously anime will exaggerate things. Are you forgetting that Mikey was a tiny kid who happened to knock people out with one kick twice his size? Not to mention that Mikey got hit by a pipe multiple times in the head and he's not even dead lmao. This is the kind of anime you're watching here and yet you're focusing so much on the MC just simply having the morale to punch someone. You're taking things way too seriously and it's stupid. Like, just drop the anime already if it bothers you so much. No one wants to hear your crying.
