| Seems like a stupid question, but I'm curious what's seen as "proper". Even in the dub, it follows the standard Japanese convention of stressing the first syllable (e.g., SAI-ta-ma, I-chi-go), but since the characters aren't supposed to be Japanese, do you tend to say "MI-ka-sa" or "mi-KA-sa"? Obviously, here in the West, the latter sounds more natural. |

| Oh I know the answer to this one! It's pronounced [trash]. In all seriousness, it depends on what language I'm speaking at the time. If I'm speaking to my Japanese friends, it's more of an even spread across the sounds but I guess the "Mi" is slightly more emphasised. When speaking to my English-only friends, I tend to westernise names to not sound douchy and to help with the flow of conversation. The "ka" becomes more like how I would say "car" (I'm Australian so soft R) while the "Mi" and "sa" become much shorter. Almost like mcCarsa" |

| I typically just treat japanese pronunciation as spanish. I feel like more times than not it's pretty much the way it's pronounced anyway. The only times people think I'm strange is when I say Magia Record. My fellow hispanics understand. |
