Kinda sad, but it was my 1st favourite anime, while favourite manga is Detective Conan. Also, I haven’t seen this episode yet.

Can't choose just one. All of the arcs are so special to me because I've always learned something precious from them.

Well, it still depends on theme's execution and characters, but the most important thing is the significant messages behind made them so memorable to me.

Regardless of comedy or drama, I really love all of what Sorachi has done with this work.

Every arcs for me are top-notch so I can't choose just one.

I wasted all my time in rewatching to the point of my rewatch total is higher than my overall anime total lmao

I’m I the only one who don’t like Sliver Soul? It wasn’t bad ofc but I feel like it’s a downgrade compared to the other big arcs.

Every Shinsengumi related arc are my favorites but If I had to vote then it's the Shinsengumi crises since that was the arc who made me fall in love with Hijikata ❤️

Of course every arc is great, but the ones that I loved the most are the Shogun Assassination and Farewell Shinsengumi arcs. I can't pick which one is better. I think the FS arc is kinda like the "Part 2" of the SA arc, since the events of the latter directly caused the events of the former.

Easily one of the greatest anime of all time. Best thing about the anime is it remained consistent throughout its run of 367 episodes. It is one anime that I know I will laugh at again and again as many times I watch it.

Truthfully, main gintama arcs are standard shounen stuff and hardly stand over its counterparts. Typical structure, typical character progressions with typical endings.

Now, what gintama truly shines in and what I'll greatly miss are the comedy episodes with the odd 2-3 eps serious mini arcs. There are only a handful shows which even comes close to how much gintama made me laugh with its wide range of humor and gags. Honestly, it's thanks to gintama that I feel I have a more refined and wider taste in humor which lead me to some previous works where gintama was clearly inspired from such as Monty Python.

This is perhaps the reason why I haven't gotten into the final arc yet, knowing that the comedy sections aren't taking the front anymore.

I liked the short arcs that got emotional or serious towards the end. Like that one arc where they switched bodies with a cat was pretty sad I think. Don't remember the plot of it just remember feeling sad watching it.

Gintama arcs felt as though they accentuate each one another. Shogun assassination and farewell Shinsengumi arcs were two of the best, most action-packed, most emotional and overall the wildest, and yet, the buildup of arcs towards it is what made them so enjoyable and so impactful.

Every arc is gold in its own way, some being the sillies, some with more serious action and plot and some just downright shit and giggles, the variety of arcs and the hilarity of most of them is true through and through.

I still have to see the final movie. I heard it is having a beautiful ending unlike aot. Gintama is always my one of the favorite shonen anime along with hxh, one piece and naruto. If we see serious arcs alone I think gintama is better than many shonen even the anime which i mentioned before. It is short, story oriented and hype every episode. I do not care about anyone's opinion but i think gintoki is the best shonen protagonist. no one can be as good as him in shonen. I am so excited for the final movie. Hopefully it comes after a month.

If I'm tbh I didn't like any arc after SA. It just felt like endless mob battles, FS, Rakuyo and SS. Apparently it's the anime's fault and the manga versions are better but idk. The plots themselves were a bit meh

What I loved most was the characters. Season 1 is admittedly not as good as what comes after, but it does a great job in setting up the world so well and making it feel lived in to the point where you feel like you live there too. I didn't laugh at every Gintama episode early on but I could probably count on my fingers the number of s1 Gintama eps I didn't enjoy. Because the characters just interacting was so enjoyable regardless of whether they made me laugh. I still hold that season 2 and beyond far exceeds season 1 but those first 201 episodes had some magic about them, maybe from the old animation, or just nostalgia. They were relaxing somehow. Every night for almost 3 months I would watch 1 or 2 episodes before bed, and that feeling I don't think will ever be replicated. Because there's no other show like gintama sadly. It's not necessarily my favourite and I don't love it as much as some others on this app but this anime is truly special and this was just one aspect i loved about it.

Its really hard to choose when almost every arc are silver. Instead of choosing my fav im gonna choose the arc that i dont like. For my least fav arc is every shinpachi arc with otsu, i dont know why but i dont really enjoy that particular arc

Started in December last year and finished it yesterday, easily the best anime I have ever seen. Especially SA and FS arcs are something I can say built to perfection. Even before that are some tear shedding arcs like Kintarou Arc. So much for a comedy anime, I guess. My favourite characters - Gin and Tama.

Atleast the episodes on that arc with takatin in it were hella fun

*I just checked, Takatin appeared for around 4 episodes. That means the Otsu Arc is 4 out of 7 godly tier.

at first I watch Gintama because of its comedy but i didn't expect to cry a lot more on this anime compared to others that i watched. the fights are good and most importantly no one can do what gintama can.

Actually not only you , the first part especially was mega ultra disappointing for me not because it is that bad , it is just because it is meh compared to other arcs
The second part has great moments and ended hilariously with made me happy

Many may disagree with me, but despite a slow start at the beginning, I highly enjoyed almost everything until SA and FS came at the end of Gintama 2015.

Everything since then didn’t live up at all compared to before, due to the changes in approaches for a more serious story, drama. It was kind of a generic, flawed and repetitive plot with amazing characters turned into one-dimensional characters. It was much less interesting compared to the comedy. Although I still liked it due the inclusion of some great aspects it built up before and its comedy that came back sometimes, it was not groundbreaking or powerful anymore.

Gintama works far more when it establishes mainly a comedy with plot, not a main plot with comedy. I still really liked this show but sadly, the last few seasons since 2017 missed the potential to be considered as a masterpiece serie.

Reviewing is not easy.

There were ups and downs for me during the first season so first season wasn't quite special for me. But season 2 to season 4 was great for me, the comedy and serious arcs of these seasons were awesome. And gintama's cast is my fav in all of anime. Gintoki is probably the best shounen protagonist i've seen so far. Silver soul was not good for me but silver soul aftermath and final movie reminded me what i loved it about this series.
