That’s not what I’d describe as “art regression”, the art style changed and it’s not to your liking is what I’d guess, the new art style I’d say is more cartoony but there is a clear improvement, I’m re-reading the manga right now and even I notice an improvement, I mean the old and new manbagi picture comparison you showed kinda shows improvement, the panel where manbagi wears sunflowers does seem more cartoonish but you can see it has finer details, look at the hair and the eyes, I’m not an artist myself but I think that’s more of a matter of your taste rather than the art being worse, as for katai, I’d think of it this way, look at komi san in the new chapters, if the author can make her like that, I don’t think katai’s face is because he became incompetent, he looks quite like his personality actually, his small face looks out of place the same way his kind personality seems out of place for someone built like a delinquent, but if you still believe that art regression happened, you need to show me an example with the main character, Komi san, her close up panels are where the art usually shines, she’s the main attraction, show us an old komi close up that’s better than a new one |

Komi overall doesn't look bad but her face dangerously drifts too much into center of face, especially mouth, it's too high too often like on the cover of volume 22. The biggest problem is that author needs to put kometani boxes every time to explain obvious things  |
