| I've noticed it's far more difficult for authors to write a good seinen than a good shounen because the former compels readers to take the content more seriously since it's supposed to be mature, targeting adults. Unfortunately, said maturity primarily manifests in obscene content and not writing. Since it's written for adults my suspension of disbelief is lessened and when suspension of disbelief is lessened you begin to realise a lot of seinen is just an outlet for mentally unwell people to revel in their twisted thoughts of violence and sexual violence. Stories are typically mediocre, there's usually a lot of wanton sex and violence almost to a comedic level, and the characters act like hyperbolic caricatures. I'm going through Berserk right now though and it's great. |

| all depends, there are some trash shounen and seinen but some incredible shounen and seinen, but what’s better at its peak? probably seinen, can’t say for jjk or chainsaw man tho, haven’t read chainsaw man |

| There should be a third category where it "doesn't fucking matter. Just have a good story." Seinen gives authors more freedom but I've seen half a dozen that could be equally enjoyed by younger audience and vice versa |
