So here's my hot take: Any guy who is single by choice and ain't tryin' is technically a "sigma male". That's technically a factor that would put you outside the hierarchy in the first place, would it not? By not putting yourself in a situation where you'd fall into one of those "roles" and not even trying to change that fact, you've essentially escaped the hierarchy in the first place. | It's more complicated, but it's similar to this. Gender signifies almost nothing to me, except that feminity is a flavor and feminism should be equality-/equity-driven, and not hate-fuelled. I do lust after some women, but it's more feminity in itself that I appreciate, and that's where something like idealism is important. Idealism: any of various systems of thought in which the objects of knowledge are held to be in some way dependent on the activity of mind. Gender is a social construction, feminity is one of its manifestations, however you can have feminity anywhere if you: have the memory of it; or the technicity to build it again. | This comes from a blogger known as Vox Day, and it is part of his SSH or Socio-Sexual Hierarchy. I have read the originator's thoughts on this - available from his web blog - vox populi - and from his point of view it is a reasonable theory - and he based this off of himself. No-one really fits in a box exactly but the Sigma Male can indeed be a big enough box to fit a lot of people in, myself included. But again, it is best to stick with only Vox Day's thoughts on this as he is the originator of it. |
