I think the problem are side characters, which are not very interesting.
Most people just want to watch titular duo.
However, Sawada and siblings from last episode were quite nice to watch.
Just my opinion tho.

The problem is too many characters that maybe get one or two episodes of screentime.

What I loved was that..this show focuses on smaller moment we have in life..and damn it is relatable.

Personally I really like This anime, but if you are trying to get into romance anime there are a lot of better choices, I would recommend rascal does not dream about bunny girl senpai, don’t let the title miss lead you it is amazing and very serious and everything about this show is a 11/10 for me!!

If you want a good romance anime, try 'Bloom into you', 'Nana', 'Fruits Basket' and 'Given'.

As a “Just Anime” watcher...I kinda agree the show doesn’t show any direction “FOR ME” but thats just my opinion...personally I think epsiode 11 was one of the best so far but I do believe that the manga readers understand whats going on and yeah so I’m happy for them,it’s just a shame that I don’t enjoy it as much but what I can add is that the quality of the anime is definitely good and I think for the busy season they’re having Cloverworks are doing a GREAT job.

I think the show tied up the issues between the main two characters far too quickly and has been drifting since around episode 6. Makes sense in a manga format but not for a show that has 12 episodes. I was watching the last episode wondering where, exactly, this show was going with one episode left. It is watchable enough but nothing particularly exciting or that interesting ever happens. I know it is slice of life but I would hope it would be more interesting than my life!!

This is Slice of Life and Comedy first before Romance, so it might not be your cup of tea. I suggest you watch Tsuki ga Kirei, White Album 2, Fruit Basket, ReLIFE, 3D Kanojo, Clannad, Tada-kun Never falls in love, Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo, and Koi to Uso. If you want more romance based Anime.

With respect to your opinion, yeah some characters are kinda boring even in the manga I tend to skip/forgot the characters and their relationship is toxic but I'm here to point out what I liked about the anime... 1st the animation is very comedic and serious in places it needs to be, Like the atmosphere when Miyamura kissed Hori... 2nd Yeah the story is pretty generic since there is no mystery / action/ etc going on but because it's slice of life and most of it is realistic... I quite enjoyed the characters because they feel like actual regular students with not much quirk... But the times they set the character I try to understand their emotion and take on the situation... Then relationship... Well it's a fun one for me because some of it actually happeneds in real life hshshshs some are toxic but manages to pull through (winks to my friends if they read this)... Not all relationship are perfect and the toxic relationship creates problems but in time they learn to overcome those problems and grow up becoming more mature (even though males are what worries hori ;> ) anyways... Yeah I get what your saying and yeah some parts need improvement but damn the romantic scenes make my heart doki doki... I have read and watched so many slice of life, romance, and comedy...AND this knows how to surprise my heart and balance it's plot for a slice of life, romcom...

If this doesn't change your mind then I recommend anime like... Nisekoi, quintessential quintuplets, and many more for those mystery infused plot... (even though most of this is slice of Life and romcom)

But if i managed to change your mind and you liked this genre of slife of life and romcom then I recommend you to animes like: Blend S, Teasing Tagaki-san, Re:Life, Toradora and etc...

Hope you do t drop this anime since I loved the manga and enjoyed the anime...

Well plain romance anime are usually fast paced. I would watch something mixed with romance so u might actually enjoy it, for example a action/romance. And remember scores do not matter, so u might hate something with a good score but enjoy sum with a bad score.

I'm of the exact opposite opinion. I find the two main characters utterly boring after their introductions in the first episode. The side characters are much better, Tooru in particular.

%100 agree. I love Tooru so much from the begining. Main couple was cute at start. But now they are kinda weird. And why the hack miyamura cut his hair?

I don’t think it’s boring, but it’s more of a relaxed slice of life romance. The pace of the show is slower than your typical romance anime I’d say but depends on your tastes.
Plus it’s kind of nice to see a slower paced show considering the fast paced world we live in.

It's boring as hell after the 4th or 5th episode. The whole thing with the pseudo S&M angle is atrocious and there isn't anything interesting with the side characters. I dropped it. I just don't see any point.

gonna be honest with you here, if you think it’s boring it maybe be because it doesn’t follow the usual romance route, but I will say that if u want to see interesting stuff happen then read the manga, (hori does get a bit unbearable for sometime tho)

the manga was so good tho!! the anime is actually a lot faster paced than the manga so it leaves out all the building emotions and small meaningful scenes, but all in all i’d say to fully enjoy the series you should give it a read first (if possible) :)

It's getting boring, the show doesn't focus to horimiya and more on side characters. Horimiya in the title confuses too since it's more on the first part of the anime and the rest doesn't even feel the connectivity to the title. The story gives us a different story like the first part is more on building a characters but ended up quickly. Side characters doesn't work on here since the anime solved it like one episode.

Too bad, I was expecting something from this show because of the hype. But just ended up being disappointed in this show. I don't know about the manga, but the story is pretty generic from the RomCom perspective and also this is boring. The pacing is so fast, which makes it more boring. This is one of the shows which I watched, but not actually paying attention to. Whenever I play an episode of this I often found myself scrolling something else on my phone. Some people say that it is actually good since the story is realistic, nah, they probably should watch Tsuki Ga Kirie, it is a good show and my personal favorite among the romance anime I have watched yet.

Monogatari Series is the BEST ANIME, and NISIO ISIN is a god

Thought hori and Izumi's secret style has a great story for beginning episodes but later the storyline just goes way away and other than the main characters, the romance isn't so good with other characters. So overall good anime with my favorite Izumi and hori .

Manga readers, or at least most of them are disappointed as well. Pacing was too fast and too many chapters were gon missing where the character development took place and they completely missed the sports festival arc. Horimiya manga was never perfect and will never be but it was at least good though the anime was a fucking mistake. Also this is coming from a manga reader who read it way before the announcement and I was pretty disappointed.
