Do you drive above the speed limit on interstates, highways, etc?

I know I'm super guilty of doing this. I was on my way back to campus today and I found myself going 80 mph (with the limit being 70) on the interstate for most of the way there. Even though I was going that speed, there were quite a few people that passed me going 85 mph++ for sure.

So I wanna hear what MAL does. Do you stick to the speed limit, stay slightly under, go slightly above, or do you risk getting a ticket and drive way above?

The general consensus is to drive at whatever the speed most other drivers are going at. Most drive at the speed limit or slightly under.

There's no speed limit if you're on the Autobahn ;)

I try to, but there is this one open road outside my neighborhood that's 25mph, which is extremely low for an open road, so I and basically everyone drives over it.

Yeah I sorta follow that rule on the interstate. This guy is going 85 therefore I'm gonna pick up my speed a little bit - that sort of thing. I probably shouldn't do that and stay around the speed limit but I'm bad like that.

Never. Why would I waste my precious fuel by going fast and saving a worthless minute?

I pretty much always go above the speed limit on all roads, I have somehow never gotten a ticket and I've only been pulled over once for speeding but they let me go.

I generally drive about 2 or 3 mph above the speed limit.

I'm usually 5-10 above and it's almost always accidental. My cruise control doesn't work and I tend to push too much instead of too little.

The only logical answer is: depends if I can drive like a savage or not.

See, I'm usually quite uptight with rules, and I used to be obsessed with speed limits while learning to drive. My teacher spent hours telling me that the maximum speed was the one that was appropriate to avoid putting others in danger.

Wich means forest roads in the countryside at night are unrestricted as long as you have good brakes (^:

I just drive. If I drove over the speed limit and got caught by the speed cam, then it is what it is. I then receive a ticket on my phone and be like: "well tough shit!"

The real question is, do you use your blinkers/turn signals? You better... half of the people where I'm from don't.

All the time, especially on the interstate. Not using blinkers in traffic-heavy areas such as the interstate endangers others as well as myself.

Also, sorry to hear about your sister. I'm glad that she wasn't harmed.

This is mostly a small town/countryside thing tbh. When I drive in really traffic-heavy zones people always put their blinkers. Around Paris there's simply no place to change line so you put your blinker, wait 10s to make sure the dudes behind you noticed, then drift on the other lane slowly.

In small towns tho? Yeah better keep an eye on those fancy black SUVs at interesctions, they never put their blinkers (rumors are that it's why they drive SUVs in the first place, to endanger others while being safe themselves).

In the car, I generally stay pretty well on the limit, and use my cruise control whenever I can. There is no need to speed and I do not want to pay for fines. I think the current speed limit is perfectly fine and have no desire to go faster.

On the motorbike, i tend to go slightly faster than the traffic if there is a lot, otherwise stay with the traffic if I can be seen or heard OK.
idk about you but the closer a girl gets to looking like ronald mcdonald, the more aroused i become. CAV

You can usually get away with doing 5 over the limit anywhere you go. With that being said, I usually just go with the flow of traffic. A few exceptions though. If it's late at night and I'm on the highway the fastest I've hit is 140mph.

Yeah, I pretty much always go 15-30 over with a few obvious exceptions (terrible weather, school zones, sharp curves, dense neighborhoods, heavy traffic etc.) which is what most people do here. Been driving 3 years now and never even received a warning. Guess it really all depends on where you live.

i reffer to go with speeds over 100km/h bcs things like going at 80 and limit is 60 or 50 is not so rare. Most ppl do that, just gotta be carefull.

Speed limits in most American highways are about 55 - 70 miles per hour...

That's like 88 - 112 KiLoMeTeRs per hour for you metric fuckers.

Which is too laughably slow for my Honda.

So...no.
