i'm actually going to rock the MAL ranking a little bit, death note have this kind of stats:
10
30.6% (502822 votes)
9
29.0% (476676 votes)
8
22.7% (373127 votes)
7
11.1% (182738 votes)
while FMAB:
10
50.4% (652542 votes)
9
28.1% (363534 votes)
8
13.8% (178118 votes)
7
4.8% (61774 votes)
i actually calculated it, it means that between 7-10 for death note it's:1,535,363
for FMAB it's: 1,255,968
though FMAB have bigger numbers on 10 than death note, if we will add the popularity, meaning, death note have 2,338,260 and FMAB have 2,031,239, for death note to have half of the members to vote 7-10 is 1,169,130, but it have 1,535,363 more than half to like the anime, while FMAB to need half is 1,015,619.5 only 200,000 above half while death note have 300k+, if we go calculate like this every anime, forget FMAB, other anime will be better.
since MAL is not calculating by the rate of people having it on the list but by the more score they have, it's lacking seriously matter that IMDB has.
edit: just notice that to make things worse, rather it's nobs or not, FMAB have
1 0.6% (7858 votes)
while death note only
1 0.2% (3245 votes)
figure it yourself out
you lost me on the:
"i actually calculated it, it means that between 7-10 for death note it's:1,535,363

and out of curiosity what would be the highest rated then?
seems you read my whole post for nothing, my entirely meaning is that the numbers of the members don't effect the score, the score is divided only by the highest score there is, and not by popularity+per the other scores, while death note maybe lost the 10 it's actually higher on 8 and 9 than FMAB in numbers of members, and while FMAB is #1 death note is only #59 because it's only have higher votes on 10 while having less members overall.
