MAL, reddit, the Tachiyomi app where you can use different librairies sources and filter on genres that I like.

Besides methods from MAL that everyone already mentioned, I usually join facebook (yes, it is a dead site) and there are anime/manga groups that constantly post aesthetic manga panels and they tell you the source so you can then read it if you're intrigued

Going through tags in manga websites or just through their database is the best way imo, most manga I'm reading nowadays were found like this, a lot of them pretty unknown. Reddit's r/manga is a good place too since they always post new chapters of ongoing manga.

I usually find out about new manga through YouTube, publishers websites (they announce monthly releases), and Twitter honestly.

Its almost always art that brings me in, I read the synopsis, decide to give the first few chapters a try online, if I like it too much ill go buy the physical copy and support the mangaka.

- MAL top manga (and maybe popularity) or maybe mangadex tops or Baka-Updates tops
- If I liked one of the mangaka's works check the other ones (and if there's any spin-off(s) check them)... Maybe checking other manga published on the same magazine as the manga I liked
- MAL's userrecs of a manga I liked (and maybe other sites recs)
- Whatever has official translations searching through nyaa
- Checking people's (and friends') tops and favorites
- Manga rewards maybe
- (Don't mind this but) having my first language translations
*Edit: I forgot r/anime_irl

I guess that's all

this is what i do as well. i search through their database and click through tags that i like (shoujo, romance, etc.) and usually go for "last updated" mangas because sometimes i have hope that the scanlation/translation teams won't abandon them (not guaranteed)

Recently how I discovered new manga is through:

- Looking at MAL users' manga list
- Follow facebook groups that posts manga recommendations
- Follow Manga Mogura on Twitter

If there's something that interest me, I'd look up the manga on Manga Updates to see if it's translated already or not.

I love romane or shoujo manga. So what I do when searching for manga is basically, I go to the manga website > go to romance genre > keep scrolling and scrolling > pick manga from the cover alone that seems interesting. The end :)

Usually everytime I like the drawing of a manga, I will check all manga of the same author only to see that same drawing again.

So my method is either these two. Let's say you like action genre and you want to find them yourselves instead of from recommendations, you can do it like me but scrolling through the "action" genre in the manga website?

- NOT your usual shounen anime
- Pure comedy? DEAD WRONG
- Treat Gintama as SoL/weekly sitcom especially earlier seasons
- Ep 1 & 2 are for manga readers
- BIG patience for its 'slow' start

Basically, I do this.
I like romcoms (shounen types, not shoujo) so I just search the romance genre, look for a manga with cool art that suits my taste, check its rating and then enjoy.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

I really enjoy checking out the publishers page.
Sometimes you find manga that catches your eyes immediately, sometimes you'll have to check the plot for more but still interesting.
Usually find new anime this way, from the start with volume one. Since I buy the physical copy of it.

Just kind of pick from the popular stuff and what interests you. You can also ask your friends for recs or check if a manga is worth it by other people's scores. Those are just a couple tips you could take.
"Molly Ringwald" out right now - check my Linktree!

I usually go to top rated manga, or check my friends manga lists too. Also I check to see if the author has any other manga published.

mangadex has a great catalog. You can select tags for genres you like and deselect the ones you don't. Usually sorting by rating will find you a couple of hidden gems after a few pages.

1.When searching in MAL or apps/manga sources. I pick key words. I do this a lot. So say I was looking for a title I'll go by each word and see what the other results are while searching for the one in particular I was originally searching for. Did this with Shisunki, Joushi, Shachiku and a bunch of others just for fun.

2.Manga recommendations on MAL when marking chapters for others/adding new ones to my list.

3.I see reddit posts but don't read any I discovered from there.

4.Anime sometimes. If I was interested I will read the manga either alongside it (what I used to do), before it's anime adaptation releases in prep for it or just read manga in general and if it gets an adaptation then yay if not and is still a manga only title then I'll read it up to it's max chapters and maybe or maybe not post a review is it has none, 1 or 2 or so and is niche enough to deserve a review.

5.I guess I could say favourite mangaka but I only looked at the manga from https://myanimelist.net/people/5693/Yuki_Azuma randomly one day I haven't done it with others much but I started on
-https://myanimelist.net/manga/15343/Mama_wa_Doukyuusei,
-https://myanimelist.net/manga/113806/Yuutousei_to_Himitsu_no_Oshigoto (really looking forward to later chapters of),
-https://myanimelist.net/manga/12305/Schoolmate,
-https://myanimelist.net/manga/101078/Schoolmate_Kiss,
-https://myanimelist.net/manga/14615/Be_Our_Guest,
-https://myanimelist.net/manga/77677/Koniro

even though I started with https://myanimelist.net/manga/30353/Mousou_Megane and was curious what else they had made. I wasn't interested by the art I was just curious.

I agree with others saying interest stacks and genres even though I've never used them.

So yeah recommendations, key words when searching for other series or upcoming anime besides just general browsing in manga sources like book stores or online sources with apps/websites.

I tend to follow mangaka that I like and read their new works. Also sometimes I just scroll what Shueisha's releasing lately and see what catches my eye.

Sometimes I'll just pick a manga which has a cool looking title or name and if the art looks good, I'll just start to read it. But this is only when I am really bored and want to read something very badly, but it's good for enjoying trash to just pass the time.

Another thing is if I just finish a manga I enjoy, I will look it up and look through the genre tags and try to pick something with similar vibes to read next. Or you know, just something that sounds interesting.

Or I could finally pick up some of the manga my friends have recommended to me over the years but maybe next time.

Mostly through Omnibus Collector (youtube channel). Or I just browse the new arrivals and see if I can find a "reading preview" online ;) If I like, I order it
