Did you change your mind about the art?
| The original anime and visual novel will always look the best to me no matter how good a remake of them looks. Shame this adaptation looks like total dogshit. |

| As a fan of the Monogatari series, I love this art style. It's just odd not seeing it animated by Shaft, but it's still great. I loved the art style of the original too. |

| After watching the original series these past few weeks I could definitely see how it looks off-putting. I stopped watching after ep 2 and finished the main series. I checked out episode 3 and it definitely bothers me to an extent specifically their noses and ooishi looking shiny lmao. Though I can't really say that it's bad, it just feels different after binging the whole series |
| It looks round and fluffy and shiny and makes it impossible for me to take this show serious. Well, as far as we can take Higurashi serious in the first place. |
| I absolutely LOVE the new artstyle. People say that the new artstyle looks bad because of their nostalgia for the old anime's art. I like the new artstyle because of the nostalgia. The art in the original VN is almost exactly the art in the new anime. (Yes, I read the VN with Ryukishi's sprites and was a better experience than the newer sprites) |

| I've always liked the new art style since the beginning with only a few exceptions of some characters. I had a hard time adjusting to Rena's new appearance as I first found it a little bit odd, but it's grown on me ever since. Keiichi, also looked a little strange as his face was more round and childlike than before which threw me off a little, but other than that I have no problem with his new design. Mion and Shion, I really love their new art style as they fit them perfectly. Satoko, I didn't notice much of a difference as I tend not to care for her character as much, but with new episodes coming out, I think I might like her better in the new anime than the original show. Rika's new art style is absolutely outstanding and very eye candy, as the gradient colors in her hair really stand out. While I do like the remake, the only thing that bothers me a lot is the new perspective and camera angles that these scenes are animated. When we need close up shots of the character, we don't get a close up for some reason. When characters are talking, sometimes we just don't see the character or, we can only see the back of their heads for some reason. Sometimes the characters don't capture the right emotion, or it's lacking the detail of emotion. But overall I'm in it for the new story, the show really made this a new fresh experience. |

The demented expressions looked REALLY demented and that made it scarier. |

OG sprites were nightmare fuel, which is the point of the VN so I can't complain lol. The sprites did their job well in that regard. Ryukishi's art became great and more defined when he drew the Umineko sprites. |
