Fanservice-heavy episode :) This series surely has a spirit of Excel Saga. Nice OVA in general.

Damn epic! Long time ago I've seen something this random, funny and just good for the viewer! This really deserves a 10/10

Self-referential to the point of egotism. Other than the vocal performance, there's nothing here.

I have to agree. The endless references to it being an anime wear out their welcome quickly and encourage the audience not to care about the characters which makes the events of the story tedious.

Perhaps the Excel Saga anime relied more on the original work for a sense of structure than is apparent from the free-wheeling way it ignored the story. I didn't like the relatively serious parts of Excel Saga all that much but it did communicate Excel's devotion to Ilpalazzo and sadness at being rejected by him and Hyatt's friendship for Excel despite Ilpalazzo's orders. Conversely I found it impossible to care about Poemi fighting K out of friendship for Futaba.

Yumiko Kobayashi's rapid speech is also not as amusing as Kotono Mitsuishi's.

Fanservice really oozes out of this anime.. even though this is pretty chaotic comedy, I kind of missed somewhat of a structure the way Excel saga had (every episode sent out on a mission which ends in failure)

Overwhelming. I couldn't even figure out if the second episode was in English or Japanese at first because I couldn't comprehend a word she was saying.

This definitely went further than Excel Saga. It just unfortunately thinks being louder and more outrageous is funnier. It is not.
