Toei animation's official website for the one piece anime has announced on Monday that the anime is delaying the 930th episode and further episodes due to the Corona Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic. The broadcast has been changed with re-runs starting at the beginning of the Wano arc. When the studio plans to return to the 930th episode and later episodes is still unknown at this point in time.

Probably the only delay I don't really mind tbh.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Take me back to the days before MAL became infested with Twitter's favorite buzzwords.

Does anyone know if the manga is also being delayed? this delay might actualy be good for the actual anime and not just for the pandemic.

As of now, the manga is only delayed 1 week which was last week. The new CH is set to release this week. How ever golden week is coming up as well so the manga will not be released in the upcoming week. After which the manga should be back to a regular schedule. There is no confirmation or news that indicates the one piece manga is going on a indefinite hiatus though due to the COVID-19. So i think we are ok and yes you are right despite all the hardships and money companies are loosing now, having the anime on break actually is beneficial so the pacing and the quality of the series won't be quite heavily impacted.

This will allow the manga to get substantially ahead, maybe even into the next arc before the anime series comes back. Which means the WANO arc in the anime will be solid and that is VERY important if you are anime only watcher. This arcs importance in the over all grand scheme of the story is more significant then you can possibly anticipate. I am so happy that one of oda's most ambitious and favorite arcs in the story will receive a quality treatment when the series returns. Again bad news for COVID-19 and my heart goes out to everyone that has been affected by this, but for OP fans, this is actually kind of a blessing.

I’m thankful I’m like 20+ episodes behind then 😂
