| MAL uses volumes as a measure I'm pretty sure. So just add the amount of volumes you've read and however many chapters you want. |

| If the material you've skipped from the manga is material you've seen from the anime, I feel like that's very understandable, even if people have a problem with it practically everyone that transitions to the manga from an anime does it. If they don't have a good reason for it like if they just got bored with a manga, decided to read ahead to see if it got better and saw that it did and continued from there, then no I don't trust their rating. If they rate a manga without seeing many parts of it not because they don't want to but because the scanlation surrounding it is inconsistent, then that's probably the most gray situation of this ordeal. On one hand yeah it's not your fault, you can't read a lot of it, on the other hand you don't have to rate it either. Not really sure where I reside on that |

| I just mark it as completed if I've seen the anime and then finish it through the manga. Even though I might have only read the second half of it, I've still seen/read the entire story, and have enough knowledge on the manga to rate it. If it really bothers you that your 'completed' may be off the mark, you can always add a tag to it. |

| Most anime adapt the main parts at least unless they completely go off course ala Chuunibyou or Akame ga Kill, so I think it's fine to mark it as if you read from start to finish |
 'On-Hold' is another way for a completionist to say 'Dropped' |
