Whenever I see an anime with a English female (transfer) student, they always have blonde hair.

It's not like people in England, or in Europe in general have mostly blonde hair, so why is that?

Is there any particular reason for it?

Helps to easily distinguish them from the rest I suppose. Most anime faces don't go into enough detail to show differences between a typical "Japanese face" versus an "American/European face" so hair colour's the next best thing

It's the idealistic stereotype. Just like us we think that every Japanese girls are cute, but in reality there are a lot of ugly Japanese women.

To highlight that they are not native. Because... BECAUSE EVERYONE LOOKS NOT NATIVE EITHER WAY. A pitiful reality of the Japanese subconsciously feeling inferior to the "beautiful" foreigners. Who are mostly depicted as foolish and with wind in their heads... all while depicting themselves the same way, with sophisticated face lines and forms. A true tragedy, individual flaws manifesting as the Art. A true critique.

This, most probably. It's just a distinct, realistic hair color that sets them apart from the rest (average brown/black hair color or even blue, green, pink hair colors). Plus, Europe is just more seen as a continent of blonds.

Blond hair mostly appears in European and North American population while in Japan it's extremely rare for someone to have natural blond hair. So when you have a foreign (European/North American) character that needs to look different from rest of the cast they give him/her blond hair.

Now I'm asking myself how they would interpret us Slavics ๐Ÿ˜ฎ.

We Slavs, like other European characters, tend to be depicted with blond hair too(i.e Irina Jelavic, Piksi, Natalia Vasylchenko,..) Though Russians tend to be depicted with silver/gray hair mostly.

People from Japan and other Asain countries don't typically have blonde hair, while in the west its far more common. So its an easy way to show different nationality.
