| Depends on how it's done and whether it fits the series. Some series are indeed better with a downer ending but if the happy ending fits it fits. |

| In my case I've been brainwashed by hollywood movies to expect a happy ending a kiss in the final scene. I know a lot of anime with bad end, wtf end or bitter sweet end. Usually it works. Endings like in panty and stocking are horrible imo. |

| I’d say it all depends on how the studio goes about bringing the feeling of a satisfying endind to the audience. While I love heartwarming endings that can really warm the soul. Animes like White Album 2 and Angel beats have two of my personal favorite endings that I consider to leave equally deep impressions for the person watching. |

| I also think it depends on the overall story and what show. It does feel like a cop out having a last minute happy ending, other times I think it's well suited. Things don't always have to be a sad ending. |

| If by bad ending you mean a sad or bittersweet ending, depends. I mean, a sad ending is not necessarily bad ending and a happy ending is not necessarily good either. I like consistent endings, that's better, if it's solid and fitting to the rest of the series, it would be okay for me, be it sad or happy, I like them good. |

| I love happy endings, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy bad or bittersweet endings. If it's done well, then they could definitely work. |
