| The beginning was promising, so I expected more. But in the end it's just an ordinary story, nothing special. It's not really worth much without its sequels. |

| Not sure why people were expecting some standalone worthy on its own. This was created as an "origin" story to Shônan Junai Gumi, it isn't even a pilot or prologue or I don't know what else. Excellent prequel, friendship birth and origin story for Ryûji. The light social touch (especially in the second "episode") in a furyô manga is nice. + It benefits from the great late Shônan Junai drawings. 7.5+/10 |

| This was a pretty good read. My only complaint is that the fan tl I read sucked but that isn't really the manga's fault. It’s gonna take a while for me to get into Shonan Junai Gumi! and eventually GTO manga. |

| Pretty great manga. It was fun reading about how Eikichi and Ryuuji met. |
