| I feel like the position's of male and female in 002 FranXX will be reversed. The MC can probably pilot a FranXX just not as a dominating character. The world just wasn't ready for a masochist like him to be born... |

| This episode was OK. It have a more slow pace than the 1st ep but it was enjoyable. We've seen the introduction of others characters of what they think and their personnalities, which is good. 02 is passive in this one. (Waifu material btw :D) Like many comments here, Hiro will rise as a "Catalyser" because it seems he have a power who go beyond that Ichigo can handle (and obviously 02 can handle). And for the piloting of the FranXX, I don't care, I mean fanservice who involve one boy/man and one girl/women is not rare and pretty common. My opinion about that is "Ok ... the girl is in an obvious position" but she is in this position because she's ok with it, and on what we see the girl keep the control of his mind and body, so she can stop the FranXX whenever she want, because if the boy have no longer connection he can do nothing. | kind of a slow down, meh I hope it won't be heavy on the teen drama/romance thingy and moves on to action fast nice way to pilot mechas, zero-two is awesome, ichigo is annoying af mecha designs aren't really up to my taste :X |

| I hope CR or other fansub groups could fix the last line by Ichigo. It created unfair opinion on her, while what she really means is not clear. When CR translated it as "You're awful", it makes Ichigo look unpleasant woman. And viewers who don't speak Japanese could easily misinterpret it. I've seen many people misunderstood it and calling Ichigo sluts, bitch, or trash. When she's actually quite the opposite. I think she's the one most frustrated here cause she can't protect her own squad and best friend. Also, I think simply change the line to 'This is awful/suck' would change the tone almost completely, and will do more justice for the character itself. |

| I think the mechanism of piloting acts this way the girl is the body/robot and the boy is the mind/pilot, and this needs a good synchronization to be able to pilot franxx properly. Indeed, eva and ttgl vibes are strong in this show. |

| I hate this egotistic main female character and she's such a cliche character, like ohmygod. She's just your another cliche female character who thinks so highly of herself and the best out of the parasites, but yeah a masive bitch (heck she might have a tragic backstory why she's like that lol). Sucks because the male MC will most likely end up with her instead of Ichigo. The cliche male character will always end up/choose the worst resort. Lol. That action scene, though, and the animation. It's the only good thing in this show so far. Good job, Trigger and A-1 Pictures. Ichigo best girl. <3 Btw, that was a very weird position for the two to connect. I thought it's gonna be like Pacific Rim, but damn this show is gonna be a fanservice fest. Haha. 3/5. |

Sure, there are some theories that would be more plausible than others--it's probably incorrect to say this series will proceed down a horror mystery path for instance--but pretending you're capable of discerning the central thrust of a series with two episodes of content even though the series has barely even explained background principles and terms and can potentially throw everything pre-established out the window in the next few episodes (in one of my previous posts I've already identified one way the directors could turn the whole patriarchy conversation on its head), while scoffing at others who might disagree, is simply engaging in self-gratification. Or delusion. Both seem to apply in your case. A finer point with respect to the portrayal of sexuality so far: while I tend to believe this series is deeper than just throwing out gratuitous fan service, it's indisputable that (1) the anime industry in general throws out a lot of gratuitous fan service and (2) Franxx has at least engaged in some gratuitous fan service in these two episodes (your best friend Lax_Caux even admitted "it's the second episode, it can become a circus of pure fanservice"!). Anime does not have to eschew everything sexual. But no one should pretend there's some deeper meaning behind every bit of sexuality presented in this series. And it frankly reeks of pretentiousness when your best response to "the fan service and portrayal of sexuality is a little too much" is "oh no you just don't understand what this series about because I have the best interpretation and the best critical thinking and the best words." The laughable kind of pretentiousness, of course. |
| Star Driver sure got forgotten. From what I remember mecha there were running on libido and main antagonists were from some kind of S&M club. Seeing this series I just thought someone made innuendos into mecha fuel again. Rather than way too obvious sex metaphors I'm more annoyed with pretentious beginning, wimpy MC and what a bitch oni girl is. I'll stick with it for now, it's not like there's much to watch this season anyway. I'm also curious about the bizarre concept of mecha with boobs. And of course asses, poorly drawn thought considering how emphasises they are... |

We've seen yet all the world in this anime, and from the OP it's likely we will get some cool antagonists / rival squad.  Also APE said there's going to be a joint mission between plantation 13 and plantation 26, I wonder what kind of mission "KISSING" is.  Few possibilites. The smug squad in the OP is elite squad with double digit numbers like Ichigo, Hiro, and Goro, they came from Plantation 26. Special squad under APE order itself, and even maybe single digit number like Zero Two, Nana, or Hachi. Note: while in the introduction of Nana and Hachi don't have code number, I think they are ex- single digit number kids who directly under APE's jurisdiction. |
| I thought that the designs of the mechs were pretty interesting, until they showed just how they're piloted. The female positions themselves, almost doggystyle, as the male pilot takes the controls that's placed on the females lower back. The facial animations of the mech's faces mirror that of the female pilot's reaction, not the males. All in all, this is pretty interesting, in more ways than one. Although some people won't like the obvious sex metaphors, I'm not that bothered by it at all. =) The action scenes was pretty good again, although there wasn't much of it this time around. As for Hiro, he isn't running away from his problems anymore, so he DOES have a spine people. However, despite Ichigo's best attempts to help him, even going as far as kissing him, he didn't have that same sensation as he had with Zero Two in her mech. Maybe it could be down to the roles being different between Hiro and Zero two, or maybe her Klaxosaur blood/saliva having something to do with it, but I'm not sure right now. Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious here..... Either way, this was another good episode. OP and ED songs were nice too. =) |
| I honestly didn't like that kiss, although the relationship between Hiro and Ichigo, I see this as betraying Zero Two. The 666 deserves to die. I can't forget the sexual appeal in the piloting of the franxx, I find it somewhat unnecessary. |

| Don't go, people; don't drop the series! There are girls MC is gonna kiss; there are partners Zero Two is gonna kill! The robot didn't run, because the partners weren't at the right position. The driving position is different for every robot piloting couple. Ok, ok, I am kidding! Good episode. I am sensing a lot of things going on behind the screen. Zero Two knows something about those robots, parasites and she is not try to win any other character or MC, in deep she wants to survive and trying to catch whatever chance incoming, even though she seems not caring. I bet Zero Two and MC together will run away with their robot or the squad will take over the job from Papa. |

| I do not like the part dedicated to the fanservice, but I find certain ideas, the environmental context and the technologies shown, very interesting and will continue to follow this anime series for these reasons. The mecha with that playful aspect, I have a little displaced, but I do not consider this work mediocre for this reason. |

Feel free to judge though, I still think the last line could be better translated. |
