| Not sure what the general rating will be overall on MAL. On sites like Anime Planet, people are already trashing it because it's violent and bloody. I think it will be in the 7.70 rating (I hope it will be higher than that). |
| I can confirm that the rating is borked at the present moment. I just crunched the numbers and it should currently have a 7.84, but MAL hasn't updated it yet. While it's not a great score, and MAL has a bias towards crappy edgy shows, it's a hell of a lot better than a 7.06 |

| They automatically update twice a day, meaning at the time, the data was accurate, but stopped being accurate until t was updated approximately 12 hours later. Happens all the time with stuff like this. It's up to date now, relatively speaking. |

| Akame Ga Kill wasn't even semi-competent though. Cost cutting measures were used on every fight scene, the plot was stupid, the pacing bad, and the characters horrific. 4/10 or lower, if you ask me. |

Even /a/ has better taste than MAL. |

I don't trust mal scoring, Half the things get up the ranking just because of hype and fandom. |

I agree. I honestly think any sites that uses a rating system to rate subjective entertainment is inherently flawed. They make it all about e-peen and fanbase wars, which frankly is fucking annoying as fuck. They are only there for people to validate their opinion really and they quite frankly distract from the experience. I can understand the system a little more if it's used on movies, because generally, people don't want to waste their hard earned money in the cinema for a craptastic experience, but let's face it, the anime community is nothing like that. Only a small percentage is actually willing to pay for the anime they consume. Enjoyment of a work can vary DEEPLY from people to people, and if a work is lower rated than another, that doesn't mean it's "inferior". People take different meanings from different works based on their own experiences in life. A show about an otaku shut in will probably resonate more with otakus than with "normies" as the internet likes to put it. |

Nagai's other great adaptation, Shin Mazinger I think gives a clear indication where it's heading. It used to be 8.15 once, but dropped to 7.90. I'm still salty over its lack of mass reception like Crybaby's, and budget problems. The writing was highly entertaining and strong. At the end of the day, ratings only useful in gauging my own tastes against the rest. I have Legend of the Galactic Heroes as a favourite and it's a great work, but I find it hard going back to it and I'm not even hyped over the new upcoming adaptation. |
| This show was odd. And i don't mean because it's Devilman or whatever. It was just the passing was, in my opinion, horrible. For instance it's all happy go lucky killing demons and then your dads a demon, oh wait and now i'm eaten by your father and it's really sad... IDK it just felt so badly.. passed? Like they tried to make get get feels but i never had enough time to develop connections with these characters that they wanted me to feel bad for and then it's so sad that they died. IDK again, i don't think this anime was great and the MC was dumb. The situations should have been more serious and all that but they flopped on the presentation and that's why i believe the rating system for this show is bad. |
