That's because it was all made up for political theater. No one in the know ever legitimately believed that because there was no evidence. They just played the role as instructed and they still lost. If the United States actually believed Russia hacked us with the intent to sabotage the election this meeting would have never happened. "That's behind us" is what someone says when they know the whole thing was bullshit and they just want to move past it.
