There was so much wrong with this, I can't even... ARG! D:
For starters, nominating a complete beginner for the Interhigh Prelims over obviously better and more exerienced players? Dude, that's what you have test games for, not the real deal.

Seconds, Tsukamoto is being subbed in to "change the mood". This was a game against their rival school, no? Weren't they supposed to be good or something? Playing with 10 people on the field + someone the rest of the team has to cover up for the entire time is not going to work. Again, this is something you're doing in a test game, not a tournament.

Tsukamoto reaching that ball was downright impossible. Being fast does not make you good at soccer. You can go to the olympics as a runner, but not as a soccer player.

That hand play right in front of the goal, should've been red. However, that would've resulted in Tsukamoto leaving the field and not allowed to play in the next game, therefore we can't do that. *facepalm*

Until Ep4 it was alright, but now it's drifting off into lalaland.

Yeah, this show is so forced. The MC didn't even have any knowledge or love for soccer from the get-go, and he's just randomly invited to join the team. No idea why the coach picked him to play the first year, other than there wouldn't be a story if he hadn't chosen him. I don't care how passionate or energetic he is, or if he can pump up the team. He has no experience compared to the other players. It's too unrealistic.

Japanese people ever get tired of some looser trying to imrpove until he becomes god or something? Give us more baddass charachters to watch , and not as a foking side role.

I love the MC of days. So far this episode has been the best and I hopes it keep this up because I'm going to continue watching. I think the MC's personality and spirit is so great but he needs to practice and practice some more. Ubukata is if that's her name is quite mean but in the end she means well. Sad that Seiseki didn't win, but I guess they came quite close. I gotta admit I kinda new that the couch would pick Tsukushi and not the guy with the sick grandma- I felt bad but felt even sadder that Tsukushi almost gave into what people said about him.. But of course Kazama gave Tsukushi some positivity and encourages him to continue into the tournament.

Sorry, but giving Tsukamoto the jersey just isn't believable to me. I get that he's a great morale booster and a team needs morale to play well, but is he so good that's it's worth the mistakes he makes play-wise? Plot must be so convenient when you're the designated protagonist.

This team spirit is why I love anime sport. Tsukushi was very helpful for the team, and they would have surely lost without him. The last part with the manager and the camera was moving

Poor Tsukamoto, he couldn't appreciate being picked for the team because he's ridden with guilt and feels that his Kasahara-senpai should've gotten the position instead.

Also, poor Kasahara for crying in the bathroom stall. It must've been hard for him.

I like Indou Kaoru, sniffling over a video a person on the train was watching. I might hate him later if he does something annoying but for now I really like his character a lot.

Tsukamoto is one of the least likeable MCs I've ever seen. Incredibly dumb, acts like a slave and cries all the time with no reason.

At times the dialogue and other characters don't feel real at all.

I can't @ them choosing Tsukamoto as their last team player lol
Dude only played soccer for maybe a few weeks to 2 months (not sure of the timeline) and just a few days ago he couldn't even kick past an opponent or know what feints are

Highly ridiculous that a well respected team like Seiseki needs a morale booster on the field especially during the first match of an interhigh

And even more so when the captain of their rival team wants to play with Tsukamoto.... lol

I read the manga first and I didn't pay much heed to the stupidity but in the anime, it's more noticeable...

Wow, that's total mockery of football.
Looks like you don't need any skills to play. Just scream "FIGHT O" like idiot and you all set.

I think the scene with Kasahara would have had a bigger impact if we as audience knew him a bit more

Tsukamoto has officially become Seiseki's greatest movitvational player, despite only being able to run...

Tsukushi gave me so much cringe this episode. Him becoming part of the main team over hard worker Kasahara-senpai or Kurusu is bullshit and after hearing the coach's reason for choosing him, I lost all respect in that man as well. "Boost the team's morale"... dude, bring some cheerleaders or something. Damn, what a way to waste a position that could have been for an actual good player. Not to mention it's also ridiculous how a well respected team such as Seiseki needs a morale booster for their matches.

Episode 5 and the little realism this show had has been officially killed.

This episode was so awkward. I really dislike how they dramatize the matches in a way that's so unrealistic.
Pretend there's something flashy and cool here.
